“ Words cannot describe what I felt when I first listened to the "We Were All Uprooted" track by Vangelis. 
One thing is for sure, I felt the rhythm, showering me, from the heart to bones and beyond.
The days followed, I found out the track belongs to ”Earth”, Vangelis's first solo album released in 1973, the year I was born. From the first moment exposed to the music of Earth, I felt a primal need that can only resemble what feels like receiving a divine call from above, ordering me to express the feelings this music generated to my system in the only way possible: With the help of the three Muses, Music being the Goddess of the silent and the awakening. So things, happened in the year 2010.
13 years ago, I had a painful battle within me on daring to put my hands on a holy grail. And still do. Shared the need to drive this agony into a creative excitement, with my be-twins-brothered friend and the other half of Lovesick's music body-buddy, Sunshine Pedro.
Pedro had a listen to the first demo that came out of my home studio on October 13th, 2012.
Almost a month later, on November 9th, 2012, the original Vangelis’s music arrangements were placed in parallel tracks, timelines left untouched, so did the scores, not a single 2 bar edit, nor EQ, or compression, only the addition of a percussive arrangement and the taste of a low-end bass feel along Vangelis chant.
We, the Lovesick, would find us immersed only in the diversity of the sound volume waves, leaving everything else completely as-is. No effects, no music tones added or changed, touched the treasure as gently as we could, and the first complete remake of Earth’s One and Two became a reality.
Once done, we wouldn’t dare share. It was more of an esoteric need and would feel more of a hubris to do anything else but keep this work private, like a treasured treasure for one’s own pleasure.
A few months later, we took part in a Red Bull music academy workshop, held in Athens Greece. BBC’s producer, vinyl collector, and music enthusiast Benji B, was the main guest speaker. He addressed the amphitheater holding Vangelis's “Earth” album in his hands and presenting it to his audience.
Unreal life and its omens. We contacted Benji on the same day, as we had prepared for him a demo of our remix on Toto’s Africa back then, we even sent him an email later, sharing our vibes on Vangelis's work. He would never reply back and we’d never insisted either. Things really happen on time, in harmony, and effortlessly which is more than ok.
A few months later, in 2013 we applied for a grand by Red Bull to help us realize the project of performing a 12-hour Marathon Lovesick live set in Africa Burn. So it happened. On a cold night of May 2013, in the middle of the South African dessert of the Tankwa Karoo and the Archetypes edition of Afrika Burn, halfway through the Lovesick Marathon, Vangelis Earth One and Two Ancient Remix was played for the first time - and the last one - in public.
After this moment, silence for another 3 years, until March 22nd of 2016, when the Lovesick addressed the audience with a 16min long durational live performance of Vangelis Earth One and Two music progression, on the occasion of a workshop series with Marina Abramovic titled, guess what, “As One”.
This performance gave us the courage we needed to overcome our fears of one’s worse self and try to reach the Teacher; let him know of him being such an influence and an inspiration of profound power to our music works and world. Seek his advice. Efforts didn’t flourish and all is for a reason.
Today, we feel the responsibility and the obligation to ourselves and the Teacher of us all, to share this work with you.
We want to honor our Teacher and thank him for being a humble servant of Music, unlike anyone we have ever met before.
His teachings shall be revealed in the years to come, the evangelists shall appear and the word will never be the same again.”

Afrika (HurryBoy) Lovesick Radio Edit

DJ band consisted of Sunshine Pedro and Odyssey Bill. Friends from our early childhood, 30 years of sharing, we became music buddies and have been playing music together ever since.
Came up with ~ Lovesick ~ within 2012. 

What is it?

A music marathon DJ live set, based on a real time remix - jamming and sampling - live set, using music instruments (guitar, bass,trumpet, harmonicas, vocals), percussion elements (cow bells, knock woods, dings and dongs), plus what we like to call “biblikia” (that is our custom sound gadget machinery).

How it's done? 

Well, the explanatory part is that we're dealing with a massive vinyl and digital music tank that gets broaden up - narrowed down to our favorite tracks. Those we finally choose to spin, will blend and twist along with loop effect sequencing and live music playing;  pre mix - jam - editing  is also involved when it comes to production and on live performance for as long as it takes for things to get Lovesick. The non explainable part is that it's a soul thing - a spiritual thing. One, one can only listen to.

What kind of music is it?

It's all different kinds of music. It depends from the time, the place, the feels, for what we'll finally end up to go up with. Lovesick is inspired from the love for the pure origins of music while aiming to the transcendental. To put it simple, it's under the "custom groove dance music" genre - that is our genre. There you go :p
