Luwa plans on letting out music that best translates who she is, what she feels, and what she sees in the current moment. The budding artist sees music as an expressive tool, and she doesn’t confine herself to one genre. She states, “When I think of the type of sound I want to create, I have to first decide what the best vessel is for me to deliver the story I want to tell, and that often changes from song to song.” Luwa’s desire to explore different sounds can be attributed to her upbringing. The 17-year old recalled the moments she spent growing up in international communities both in Nigeria and the United States, and she believes that her diverse sound is a reflection of what she saw growing up. She says, “I found myself surrounded by and learning from so many different types of people. You can really find so much beauty and unearth different sides of yourself when you are receptive to your environment and open to new things.” Luwa is not willing to be tied down to a single genre or narrative, and in due time, the world will see more of what she has to offer.
