This week’s Crack Mix comes courtesy of Bristol-based DJ and Psychotherapy Sessions resident Alya L.

Her hour-long offering whips together tracks from local artists Grove and Fellony, Hyperdub heroes Ikonika and Lee Gamble, plus music from the likes of Dark0, Martyn, India Jordan and more. The result? A mash-up of icy instrumentals, tough edits and foot-stepping club constructions.

"sometimes music can't be reduced to words. at the time, we were dancing between voids of uncertainty. omicron placed alot of doubts around inviting friends from overseas. right now it is amazing to think all these gifts are slowly becoming taken for granted once more. but then, the implications of such risks were something at the forefront of everyone's mind. this party was the release. the first in a small series of events. the mix here captures a two hour segment of music from an extended set by DJ Sundae - a sincere and sensitive dj with totally unique selections. on the night he soundtracked the front room, while Dali and schwet led the trip out back. it was amazing to connect with so many people and explore the possibilities of dancing together after those long nights alone. thank you to everyone who came, played, and helped. I hope you enjoy this memory".

From the third wave of Medellin DJs emerged Julianna, a versatile selector who since 2007 has been an important figure in the development of the electronic music scene in her hometown, being part of different, relevant and important projects during her almost 14 years of musical career.

She is an interdisciplinary artist who combines mixing, music production, illustration and activism in order to create new horizons for the electronic music communities in Colombia and Latin America. She is an artist of the Insurgentes label in Medellin and one of the founders of ECO and Latitudes, two platforms that highlight the regional scenes in their creative, political and feminist perspective.

Her DJ sets seek to create new narratives, always taking risks that go through different genres. Her latest release with Matias Aguayo on Cómeme Records 'Que si el mundo', is a small sample of her current and future work in sound design and music production.

De la tercera ola de DJs de Medellín surgió Julianna, una versátil selectora que desde 2007 ha sido una figura importante en el desarrollo de la escena electrónica de su ciudad natal, haciendo parte de diferentes, relevantes e importantes proyectos durante sus, casi ya, 14 años de carrera musical.

Es una artista interdisciplinaria que combina la mezcla, la producción musical, la ilustración y el activismo con el fin de crear nuevos horizontes para las comunidades de música electrónica en Colombia y América Latina. Artista del sello Insurgentes de Medellín y una de las fundadoras de ECO y Latitudes, dos plataformas que resaltan las escenas regionales en su vertiente creativa, política y con una perspectiva feminista.

Sus Dj sets buscan crear nuevas narrativas, siempre tomando riesgos que pasan por diferentes géneros. Su último lanzamiento junto a Matias Aguayo en Cómeme Records 'Que si el mundo', es una pequeña muestra de su actual y futuro trabajo en diseño sonoro y producción musical.
