● The faster you can accept the things you can't control, the farther you get to be away from your need to control them. 

● Patience is important because we never know what's working in the background for our benefit. Sometimes good people and good things are happening behind the scenes, setting us up for success.

● One constant within religion and science is that life ebbs and flows. For some those waves can feel especially rocky and exceptionally cruel. But even in the worst of times every trough still has its crest if you hold on.

“H.A.L.T. II: The Reunion”

The H.A.L.T. remix album series is an endeavor I began to champion radical self-care. Radical self-care, which was popularized by intersectional feminist Audre Lorde, is a proactive and intentional approach to well-being that prioritizes one's own needs and well-being, even when it requires challenging societal expectations or making unpopular choices.

The acronym H.A.L.T. centers in the idea that we must always watch our levels and check-in with ourselves in order to make sure we don’t get too Hungry, get too Angry, get too Lonely, or get too Tired. It’s widely used in addiction recovery but it’s a method that has been instrumental in my personal struggles as a Veteran with complex PTSD. Without a radical level of self-care it’s easy for me to spiral into flare-ups, which is a state of being most people only fear and don’t understand.
