Sometimes it's good to slow down the machines to get another look at your work. It seems that tempo limitation brings a different inspiration, a new way to experiment.

For his third release on his own label, In Abstracto, Luxus Varta ventures into a downtempo exploration through a five track EP with a bittersweet flavour.

From the twisted snare of 'Genesis' to the eerie pads of 'Cria Cuervos', the mysterious French producer delivers once again a unique musical journey between melodic Electro and raw IDM, as an 'Ideal Fix'.

For the past 25 years, the space telescope "Hubble" has been orbiting 540 kilometers above Earth. Black holes, iridescent gas mist, distant planets: Hubble has changed our view of the cosmos by capturing some incredible photos of our galaxy. Without the Hubble telescope, we would not know such beautiful images of space, and have discovered many different perspectives of Earth too. Feeling inspired by the journey into space, SolarOneMusic has been working hard to create their own Hubble Telescope Series, which captures the feeling of space exploration through different experimental dance-floor tracks. As a homage to the Hubble Telescope and all the great scientists and engineers at the NASA and ESA and each part of the series comes with a cover print picture taken by the Hubble Telescope. The series consists of 3 releases featuring E.R.P., Heinrich Mueller, Rudolf Klorzeiger, The Exaltics, Robert Heise, Crotaphytus and Luxus Varta.

‘Aquamarine Puzzle’ marks a new step in the sound of Luxus Varta who has previously released on Solar One Music and Intramuros Records.  Six paths are etched for this journey into time, space and the machine.  A spectrum of sound is allowed to roam, to wander into strange worlds of galvanised synth lines, serrated snares and soulful strings.  The 12” comprises perfectly balanced, astral melodies countered by crisp and precise rhythms, and distant harmonies tethered to absorbing bass.  A renewed partnership with machinist in arms, Paris The Black FU of Detroit Grand Pubahs is formed for the mechanical dreamscape that is ‘Globb’.  A complex and utterly compelling encounter with the Luxus Varta nebula !

‘Plastic Time’ is a 5-track EP that fuses Electro and melancholic sonorities.  The 13th release of the French label will be pressed at 300 copies and released late February 2019.  It includes a special appearance by Paris the Black FU (Detroit Grand Pubahs) on the track ‘Stilnox’.

The release is about the perception of time depending on people’s activity and their mental state.  Plastic Time (also known as Elastic Time) is a term developed by Intel researchers to describe a modern “experience that is highly interruptible, shrinking and expanding around immediate concerns, and interleaving through multiple activities”.

With just a handful of releases on labels such as Solar One, Shipwrec, and Brokntoys, Luxus Varta has fast established himself as one of the most unique sounding producers in the field of electro music, an artist whose tracks stand miles apart from common genre tropes. A frequent collaborator of Detroit Grand Pubahs, Luxus Varta is by no means a stranger to dancefloor functionality, yet his music runs deeper, baring its electronic soul through intricate songwriting and immaculate sound design. 
“Colder” is a homage to human solitude, a reflection on the breakdown of human relationships, when callousness takes over from emotion, and physical contact becomes but a perfunctory exercise. Luxus Varta translates these feelings into five tracks that contrast harshness with beauty, distance with immediacy. From bass-propelled opener “Flash Tension” to melancholic finale “Invisible”, complex melodies and translucent synths are set against a background of abrasive noises, bitcrushed effects, and Luxus Varta’s unmistakably inventive beat making. 
“Colder” is Luxus Varta’s first release for the TRUST label, which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year. The 12” version ships in transparent vinyl with sleeves designed by dextro.org.
