Here's the simplest description for an Interbay track, ever:  "Overnight Neon" is synthwave with guitars and spoken word vox.  

(...but, of course, I can't just leave it there, can I?)  

The inspiration for this track was the preponderance of "neon" in any imagery related to synthwave...and the old motto for FedEx:  When it absolutely, positively, has to be there overnight.  

That lead me to a mental image--very much like the Savlonic video for "The Driver"--only with a color palette of pink, blue, and purple...and a more modern neon vibe.

Similar to yesterday's track, this was a track that was finished and waiting for a video to be created for it back when I was posting tracks with videos over on Facebook...that languished in The Vault ever since, waiting for me to open the project back up and make it fit the parameters expected of an Interbay SoundCloud Exclusive track.  (Thiis track had been an instrumental and now it has spoken vox.  I also fixed the song structure, fixed the mix, added a couple of new elements.)  

"...and the vampires shield their eyes.  My headlights are what they despise."  

Definitely some "synth pop from '79 to '81" vibes on this track--especially when it comes to synth sounds...and the type of guitars on this track keeps it part of the new wave genre as well.  

I rather like this one.  It makes me nostalgic for the days when I had enough hair to do crazy things with it.  It feels honest, earnest, and real.
