In his home country Poland, Pete Grace is already a well-known and respected DJ and producer. Over the last few years his releases on the Warsaw labels Spekulla Records, Taste The Music and Time2fly Records have also been played over and over beyond the borders of Poland naturally. The next logical step for Grace now, is to make his club sound with its distinctive East European touch available for the public at large – via Sonar Kollektiv.

This way he also benefits from Pete Josef's astonishing voice. Within the last two years the Bristolian singer and one half of The White Lamp has come to be something like the in-house voice of Sonar Kollektiv (f.e. to be heard on Alex Barck's album “Reunion”, on the album “Lux” by Paskal & Urban Absolutes and the last EP by Marlow, “Backroom”). You can hear how well the two Petes match from the very first verse: „Finally I can see your face, finally I can see you the way you taste“, sings Josef and a bassline kicks in as snappy and smart as a Polish hunting dog. But what starts like a proper House tune crumbles again and again into sentimental breaks to gain at the same time vast sex and pop appeal. Worth watching is the accompanying video clip, telling the story of a beauty, which you can only find in Poland.

To unlock the full potential of the track also in the club world, Mao and Rockford Inc. have been kindly asked to deliver remixes. After flying high with the remix of Alex Barck's “Doubter” the twosome Mao keeps the altitude high to drop another bomb, giving every dancefloor in this world the shivers with this impelling, sombre remix. Also not for the first time working for Sonar Kollektiv is Oliver Marquardt under his Rockford Inc. moniker. Which goal his revision of “The Way You Taste” is aiming for says the name itself „Sunday Brunch On A Dancefloor Rework“. And actually, these are the exact occasions in Marquardt's home town Berlin that cause quite often the most euphoria.

Last but not least you get the bonus track “Mleko” with this digital release. A bestial rave monster which, under certain circumstances, could even become one of the biggest smash hits in this year's Ibiza season.

Frankfurt’s Matthias Vogt has assembled quite the back catalogue over the past decade, from his timeless work as one half of Motorcitysoul on Aus Music and Freerange Records, to the six albums released by his popular jazz ensemble [re:jazz].

Matthias now teams up with London label Anjunadeep for a string of releases, kicking off with the ‘Seven Summits EP’ which has picked up early DJ support from Dixon, Tensnake and Dusky. Featured on the #1 iTunes Dance compilation ‘Anjunadeep 07’, title track ‘Seven Summits’ is a wistful trip through mystic melodies and haunting soundscapes, deftly blending delicate production with raw emotion.

Growing from sparse strings and jaunty keys, ‘Schwarzbach’ is another piece of subtle melodic house, flowing through elegant atmospherics before swelling to an understated crescendo.

‘Can We All Be Still’ takes a leftfield turn; a beautiful downtempo track built around a simple stabbing bassline and ethereal meditative vocals from Pete Josef.

One Plus One is the five track debut EP by Melbourne band Leisure Centre (FKA The Do Yo Thangs) - a collection of sensual slow jams and bumping future soul dominated by rich, four-voice harmonies. 

Their debut release is the result of many years of soul searching for songwriter/drummer/singer Hugh Rabinovici and his right-hand-lady, vocalist Audrey Powne (Au Dray). The two met some years ago in the drab corridors of jazz school and bonded over a shared love of Erykah Badu and a desire to spread their creative wings. The combination of Hugh’s writing and Audrey’s vocals immediately gelled and before graduating they’d assembled a gifted cohort of musicians that went on to become Leisure Centre.
 
One Plus One is equal parts performance and programming, drawing from a broad palette of live instruments and electronic sounds. At the front, Hugh and Audrey alternate lead vocal duties, supported by harmony singers Maddie Otto and Tiaryn Griggs. Backing them, the guitar sound is classic soul but the plethora of synthesizers and 808 kick drums is definitely not, nodding equally to Vangelis or Hiatus Kaiyote. The more you listen, the more intricacy is discovered. The writing uses jazz elements and odd rhythmic devices, but it’s all tucked away - there’s nothing that intrudes into the foreground or interferes with the song’s abilities to speak to an audience.
 
Hugh’s writing is a reflection of a unique musical development. A child of piano, cello, self taught guitarist and now drummer, his influences and abilities stem from an early life in music that moved to jazz school and a trip to South India to study Carnatic  music. One Plus One is only the beginning for Hugh and the members of Leisure Centre. With a new partnership at local label HopeStreet Recordings, anything is possible for the swooning soul collective.
