So here's another cover. A tribute to the genius who is Suzanne Vega. It sounds a bit cheesy to be honest, especially the synthetic horns and flutes I use in it, but I'm quite enjoying that cheesy latin/jazz sound and it's pretty damn close to the original. Most of it i've done, just the drums and guitar I stole from the internet as I can't play them. Bass, Vocals and Shaker is all me baby.

Bossa Nova = Nouvelle Vague = New Wave. The time seems right to write a new chapter in the Nouvelle Vague saga: with a new album “I Could Be Happy”. Athol Brose is the first EP of the band and its coterie of female vocalists. Nouvelle Vague and Friends is thus more of a nexus of forthcoming projects: a new album comprised of punk and post punk standards imbued with the inimitable Nouvelle Vague touch. Reworked versions of Nouvelle Vague classics, recorded with traditional live musicians along the way during the last few years’ Starwood/le Méridien Hotel like Ever Fallen in Love with Indian instruments and for the first time, a remix by Dream Koala and a number of other surprises!

I was delighted when talented composer and musician Shauna-Kay Hamilton invited me to do a collaboration with her. She suggested we do a cover of "Killing Me Softly". Initially I felt intimidated - such a huge, well-loved song. But then I started humming it and soon I was hooked and so I said okay let's give it a go. 

So here is our version. We hope you enjoy it and thanks so much for taking a listen.
