The third compilation (of four instalments) in the Various Artists catalogue of Pi Electronics is hitting physical and digital stores around the globe on the 10th of February 2023.

The concept of releasing artists, who performed at π parties (2014-2019) along with musicians who stood close to the label before and during its activity, gathers 18 tracks to the Limitation Compilation.

Music by New York City industrial legend Adam X, Swedish master mind producer Peder Mannerfelt and Irish Techno figure, Eomac (also one half of Lakker) finally takes its place on the label catalogue, along with tracks by the electro side of Italian born producer, Alessandro Adriani and the sound-aesthetic of UK hailing musicians, Slave to Society (formerly AnD ) and Sam KDC.
Berlin artists Alekzandra and Interviews appear with a synth leaning piece, and a hypnotic, broken techno contribution respectively.
You can also meet the sound of Tel Aviv’s finest electro duo TV.OUT on this release, which also includes a rare collaboration track by Ireen Amnes and Gramrcy.
Finally, ‘Limitation’ presents music by Greece affiliated acts of different backgrounds: from the dreamy guitars of Monochromatic Visions and the ambient/drone of Devika, to the broken beats of Zevla and Ønly, as well as the rolling techno of Thanos Hana. Not to mention the textures of noise band Phallucipher, the industrial slo mo techno of Thessaloniki’s, Archaic Intellect, and the noise-techno of label founder, 3.14.

A crossroad of different genres and production styles is offered in the formats of Double Vinyl Sampler, Double CD and digital for this compilation, titled “Limitation”.

Inèssa, гостья 42-го выпуска нашего аудиосериала, уже успела принять участие как артист на событиях RNDM (Plastilin), посещает Open Decks вечера, а также была приглашенным хэдлайнером на большой вечеринке команды BELIEVE в городе Оренбург. Приглашаем к прослушиванию, а также предлагаем к прочтению нашу беседу с артисткой:
 
1. Инесса, расскажи, пожалуйста, о том, что ты ценишь/ищешь в игре других артистов? Каких типов гипноз, если можно так выразиться, ты предпочитаешь на танцполе?

— Меня всегда завораживают артисты, которые живут в своей музыке, виртуозно обращаются с разным оборудованием, но в то же время обмениваются эмоциями с публикой. Это и вдохновило меня расширять кругозор, познакомиться с игрой на виниле и Аблетоном.

2. Расскажи о своей первой вечеринке с электронной музыкой. Как это было? Что это изменило в тебе или, может быть, усилило ощущение того, что тебе нравится в жизни/себе/музыке?

— Наверноe, мне несказанно повезло, так как моей первой электронной вечеринкой оказался Boiler Room, да ещё и в самой столице техно – Берлине.
Тусовка проходила в клубе Watergate. Он стоит под мостом, напоминающим замок. Панорамные окна двухэтажного клуба выходят на веранду, которая находится прямо на реке Шпрее. Сказать, что вид был завораживающим – не сказать ничего. Закат мы встречали на речной веранде, общаясь с тусовщиками со всего мира и слушая доносящиеся из клуба мелодии. А после того, как стемнело, я поднялась на внутренний танцпол. Все эти быстро бегающие по потолку разноцветные огонёчки; танцующие без устали люди; атмосфера полной свободы и раскрепощённости; музыка, от которой бегут мурашки, чтобы пронизывать все твое тело…Невозможно было перестать слушать и танцевать. Любовь с первого раза. 


3. Откуда ты? Какие вечеринки тебя окружали и окружают?

— Я из небольшого города на Севере России, где про электронные вечеринки и по сей день не сильно много знают, как мне кажется. До пандемии я очень много путешествовала и посетила такие знаковые споты как Berghain, Kit Kat (Berlin), Fabric (London), Khidi (Tbilisi), De school (Amsterdam). Из московских особо запомнились ныне почившие Плутон, Родня, Squat 3/4, а также питерский Клуб. Все эти места и сформировали мой музыкальный кругозор, а также мнение о том, как должна выглядеть хорошая вечеринка. 

4. Музыка, которую ты выбираешь, очень энергичная и даже хулиганская, а какие еще настроения влияют на тебя? В какие края тебя особенно тянет, когда чувствуешь, что сейчас нужно сменить ритм? Когда ты наедине.

— На заре своей тусовочной карьеры я слушала много хауса, классического техно, дарк техно и индастриала. В последний год меня больше стало привлекать скоростное и пилящее электро, а также близкие к нему жанры. Но наедине с собой я могу слушать самую разную музыку: нравятся мелодии 80-х и 90-х, диско, иногда переслушиваю американские хиты 2000х, ностальгируя по временам детства и взросления.
