Brought up in California and now based in New York, Dubamine brings a unique signature sound to world of dubstep. Blending everything from the sounds of roots reggae to west coast hip hop he creates a style filled with positive vibes that simultaneously messy's up the dance floor. With a few Free Releases already under his belt, Dubamine presents his debut release with Dank 'N' Dirty Dubz in the form of a massive 9 track LP, which consists of 7 original tunes and 2 remixes by the Dank 'N' Dirty powerhouses that are ENiGMA Dubz & The Widdler. Listeners have been eagerly waiting for the release of the dubplates on the 'Soundsystem LP' for awhile now and come May 17th, the wait will be officially over.

The moment we’ve been waiting for. Youngsta’s Sentry Records continues to set the pace and raise the standard with one of the most sought-after artists in the current Dub and Dubstep scene. After releases on institutions such as Deep Medi, System and ZamZam Sounds - Egoless is back for another 12” shell. Revealing the next masterpiece of the Croatian heavyweight, the prolific imprint welcomes its next family member and two mammoth tracks. From vintage FX to on-the-fly arrangements and live instruments - Egoless’ production style encapsulates the Jamaican roots, transferring its spirit into the modern era.

Heading straight into the abyss of ‘Decolonize’, we’re being greeted with tastefully overdriven tape hiss, obscured by reverb. Oriental, sitar-esque string plucks take form, wielding an increasingly inquisitive nature. Alongside the organic, percussive swing the string plucks cease for a moment - a fierce vocal statement excites the air as the full intensity of this sonic weapon hits the speakers and every last fibre in your body. The superbly orchestrated arrangement flows in a continuous groove, led onward by haunting surges and psychedelic flute arpeggios. On top of the stomping foundation, longing spheres conclude the anthem and leave us crave for a rewind.

Turning to ‘Global’ - the alarm bells of an apocalyptic future reverberate into to your ears. Gargantuan drone pulses lead the way for tribal, acoustic drums to stir the dance. A daunting swing hurls its monumental weight. Deeply imbued with rhythm - the meticulously crafted sound design leaves us dancing in awe. Life-like, vibrant flute performances form a harmonic composition of exceeding quality, sure to fire up any dance. Polished by creative vocal sampling and Egoless’ fine-tuned sense of controlling tension & release - these tracks will stand the test of time - for this year and beyond.

Bengal Sound - Young Skeleton // Coroners (Out Now)

The latest instalment of the Hold Tight Records digital catalogue comes courtesy of a brand new member of the family, Subtle Mind. Hailing from west coast USA, this exciting and versatile producer has been turning heads around the globe with his unique take on dubstep and dub wise styles. Incorporating melodic and experimental elements alongside solid bass weight and deep atmospheres, this four track EP takes the listener on a journey through Subtle Mind’s world. 

The first track, ‘Warrior Mentality’, is a collaboration with San Francisco based bass weight wizard Saule, another talented producer making huge waves around the 140/dubstep scene worldwide. A backbone of solid and rolling drums is accompanied by an entrancing and deep sub bass, which has already been doing damage on sound systems worldwide. This is followed by the title track ‘Chiefin’, an absolute weapon – or evil bubble machine – already being supported by dubstep heavyweights worldwide. ‘Dope n Pinot’ sees Subtle Mind explore deep and growling bass lines coupled with intricate fx, and ‘SFV OG’ brings the EP to a close with it’s dystopian atmospheres and futuristic grime/trap elements.

HTD006 takes inspiration from the roots of UK sound system culture along with various styles of global electronic music, representing the Hold Tight ethos; presenting new sounds that draw heavy influence from the music’s history.
