Constant movement. We drift continuously across axes which in turn shift their position over endless layers of reference points in space. Nothing is set and fixed for eternity, except movement. An oscillator on a synthesiser never stops droning, we just open the gates and grasp its sound for a certain time. These glimpses of the continuum are what gives us, humans, the feeling of time and being alive.
Music as representation of movement and flow, and as a transformation of the elements given to us to express awe, love, and submission to the forces of nature and its beauty. This is why we are on this trip. We want to leave the white noise created around us and focus on the big, vast concept of synchronised movements. Without getting ontological, to just imagine the complexity of nature, works as a way out of the banality of the news, the who and why, and all the noise. Just observe and listen.

6 years after V.I.C.T.O.R, Golden Bug announces a return to La Belle Records with Piscobalis, due for release on February 18, 2022.

Psychedelic, dark and haunting, Piscolabis embraces all the styles dear to Antoine Harispuru and emerges as a striking opening onto new worlds, and his fourth studio album features a wealth of guest talent in the form of French artists The Liminañas and Tim Glass; Japanese vocalist, composer and sound designer Narumi Herisson aka Vega Voga; Australian trio Funboys; and Spaniard Pajaro Sunrise.

‘COLIBRI is a psychedelic labyrinth, a sentimental and hypnotic ascent that radiates on the dancefloor. VARIATION SUR 3 BANCS featuring The Limiñanas', immerses us in the world of acid western and psychedelic pop ; a hitchhiker’s fever dream. On TOKOYO NO KUNI, Golden Bug invites Japanese singer Vega Voga to craft a bridge between their two cultures by creating a musical epic, sounding like an imaginary, acid-drenched Toshiya Fujita movie. With its slow rhythm and spellbinding melodies, LA BOITE NOIRE explores Berlin electronica immersed in chloroform. LA GOUTTE D’EAU takes off, dark and throbbing, and the fluid rhythm is left behind by hypnotic patterns that push the listener into their sofa, and doesn’t relent until the very end of the interlude.

FATA MORGANA excites with its sleazy rhythm, hypnotic arpeggiator and cosmic sound effects. NID DE GUEPES’ interstellar flute wraps around slowed dub effects, like a 45 played at 33, and evokes emotion by repeating its heady loop, an obsessive and mutant vision of music. BRING THE LIGHT with the support of Spanish singer Pajaro Sunrise is an ideal springboard to touch the stars and explores the clear face of Golden Bug by fusing choppy oriental guitars, solar vocals and dub rhythm. Without interruption, KOTODAMA continues the journey to an unknown planet, on which Vega Voga comes to pose her suave voice on dark electronic arrangements, transforming itself into indescribable and harmoniously eccentric binary code. To end this journey, LE CHANT DES SIRENES, carried by the voice of Frenchman Tim Glass, plays along the lines of scintillating and nebulous pop.

Vocal textures with robotic vibrations, and complex psychedelic music are the thread of Ariadne in this new sensory and universal album. Music to listen to, see and feel.’

Up next on Soul Clap Records, the label that brought you the funk and all that stomping to move your trunk, we're smoothing it out with something truly deep. Presenting the break out debut of talented young David Marston. His roots reach back to his city of birth, Chicago, then spread to the island of Jamaica, where he grew up fascinated with the new world of sound around him. Early guitar training and eclectic musical influences exposed him to classic rock, the blues, jazz, reggae and dub; inexorably the emotive power of music took its hold on him. Now he represents the city of Philadelphia and strives to make music that combines varied, contrasting, and diverse musical elements in a manner that is both intricate and elegant. 

We originally took notice of David a couple years back when he sent us "Gruv", a deep saxophone driven bomb that became the A side of the Jamaicalia EP. Then it took over a year for him to feel ready with his next body of music, which included the future Deep 4 Life anthem "I Don't Want", "My Love Will Be Crying" and "Trust Me". For this EP we also have the world premier of Gemini Love aka Crew Love's three headed and two faced monster, Eli Goldstein, Gadi Mizrahi and Nick Monaco, who have gotten together to present a punky, funky remix of "I Don't Want". 

About his EP, titled Jamaicalia, in David's words: 
"Jamaicalia is a marriage of Jamaica and Tropicalia. I first encountered the term Tropicalia as the caption of a photograph taken in Jamaica. Intrigued, I discovered that Tropicalia was an avant-garde art movement that was started in the 1960s in Brazil. The movement came to exemplify cultural hybridity. It encouraged cultural syncretism: the merging of various and divergent artistic influences with the purpose of creating something novel and powerful. I am fascinated by Brazilian music, and the songs that are featured on this EP undoubtedly have strong Brazilian influences. My music, to a great extent, is the result of fusion; it is a creolized music, a pastiche of diverse styles. While my music is not typically Jamaican, Jamaican culture has had a significant influence on my approach to music creation. For me, Jamaicalia is an apt title for this body of music, because it embodies an experimental amalgam of world and dance musical elements."

bORDEL Records is back with a single taken from Turbotito’s last EP on the label, ‘It’s Always The Same’, back in May. This time it comes with innovative remixes from Kasper Bjorke and Gemini Brothers. As well as his solo work as Turbotito, Filip Nikolic is also a producer for the likes of Bonde Do Role, Azealia Banks, Baby Alpaca and many more. He runs his own outlet for his material and on this release worked with vocalist Baby Alpaca to serve up a track with a strong emotional impact. This glistening but downbeat pop single, ‘Different’ features a deep and sombre speech about love and what’s left of it, in regard to what we are doing to nature and our environment. It comes with its own video which finds New York City underwater with only one man left. Danish producer and hfn music artist known for his immersive disco house and pop LPs Kasper Bjorke is the first to remix. He flips the track into a superbly slow burning six minute number with tumbling drums, the original’s pained vocals and some loose percussion to help move the groove along. He also provides a top dub mix that strips the vocals and has more focus on the rueful keys and heavy drums. The final remix is from Romanian producers and twins Gemini Brothers. The Skint and Night Noise associates go for something more swirling and synth heavy, with cosmic chords and icy hi hats taking you on a mid-tempo house journey. This is a tasteful package of tender house and disco sounds that will inject any set with real feelings.

Next up on fresh, percussion-loving Canadian label, Breathing Room Records, is the Aquarius EP. It comes from a relative newcomer in Bixi, the new alias for Basel, Switzerland-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Lokke aka Modern Trash Quartett. The output for Bixi will be home to more sample & house-oriented tracks while Lokke will continue to lean more towards the downtempo and jazzy end of the spectrum.Best known for his smooth 7” releases on Amsterdam’s INI Movement,  Berlin’s Beatbude and Cologne/Berlin’sLaut & Luise, this time the German producer takes us on a warm and tropical excursion for his first 12” release. Aquarius instantly brings us Southward with a groovy rhythm, bird calls and a fluttering flute that transport you beachside. Rounding out the A side is Bicho De Pé, a deeper number with a brooding melody, thundering bass and textured atmospheres. On the flip, Cosmic Water is the most dancefloor friendly excursion with swelling synths, a hard hitting low end and a combination of both expertly sampled and finely performed parts. Continuing the trip into the tropics is Ryu Santos with its deep jungle-inspired leanings and percussive workout. Closing out the record is Bunga Bunga, a sensual cut to close your eyes and get lost in. The Aquarius EP is a medley of deft live instrumentation such as Rhodes keys, bass and percussion all mixed in with an adept use of samples. Additional percussion performed by Florian König. Artwork for the record is once again expertly curated by 3D and visual artist Maks Pihs, perfectly matching the theme of the release.
