“In the mist of the night, a driver locks his rimmed glasses to his face, fasten his seatbelt and stomps his foot on the gas. An array of beams and city lights flow in a continuous spectrum that dissolves into lines as the car speeds up. It’s only a matter of time before his journey turns into a tunnel of light. Off he goes into the distance to test the space time continuum limits of speed and sound with aboard of his car only courage and humility.”  

For his first EP, Romain FX digs deep in his emotions to pull out four Italo & House infused tracks full of musical surprises.  

Romain FX comes to Fauve with some hard-strutting disco shapes to impart for all you fabulous freaks of the night. "The Drive" leads the way with a nagging, seemingly endless arpeggio draped in subtle flecks of harmonizing synth shapes - it makes for the perfect energised club track. "Ke Ai" is a more emotional number that seeks to tug at the heart strings even as it makes you move. "Fray" brings something a little cheekier with its darting high-register lead lines, sweet chords and airy mixdown - this is one for the terraces of the warmer months to come. "Air House" completes the set with a dreamy, pad soaked floater that keeps that sturdy disco-informed rhythm section intact.

For their inaugural flight, Magic Bird coaxes left-of-centre master Golden Fleece into sacrificing a glittering, intergalactic original for the label's first outing. 'Schapelle's Boogie' bathes listeners in space-age sweeps and reverberating guitar struts, all tied together by a hypnotic bass arp and slick percussion combining in chuggy dancefloor salutations from Golden's parallel universe.

In celebration of hitting the 50th release in their catalog, Dresden-based power house Uncanny Valley is supplying us with an extensive selection of tracks spread across seven colourful records. Following Pink, Red and Orange, next in line Blue takes centre stage with five new contributions by label regulars.

Next to appearances from Credit 00, Qnete, Gnista and AGB, we witness the return of Uncanny Valley staple Break SL. After a period of hibernation, the Dresden artist returns with a vapourish excursion, tilted 'Bye Bye 627'. An endlessly timeless slice of driving house, powered by its sun-kissed synth arrangements and playful chords.

The patterns weaved and meandered before his very eyes, they were hypnotic and cast a spell upon his train of thought and vision. Conceptually they were stunning but beneath the glow of his frazzled mind and the substances which danced a merry jig amidst his chemicals he was lost in a maze of wandering lines and blurry dots. It was going to be a long night as he marched between rooms whilst the drums rumbled and banged in his ears, he cast a glimpse outwards onto the floor and began to move. 

Armec is set to release a new EP on Echocentric Records, an EP which is provocative and thoughtful. It channels elements of space and IDM, with agile sound design and intricate angular electronics.

With an abundance of amazing tunes and music coming out of these restricted times, it’s made for a bumper crop of wonky chuggers, acid heaters and sun kissed Balearic bangers for our annual ‘A Summer Riot’ EP.  So much so, that’s this year’s IX instalment has bolstered considerably, now spreading over two editions, and with 6 tracks apiece from some of our favourite producers.

Seasoned Futureboogie pros, Christophe and PBR Streetgang, head up the selection on Part Two, with Christophe delivering a meaty, reverb soaked, acid brain bender on ‘Critters 2 (The Revenge)’, whilst the PBR boys offer up a sleez and seductive Moroder inspired romp.

Glasgow’s Manakinz make a second appearance across the two ‘A Summer Riot IX’ releases, with the hypnotising ‘Mystic Throbber’, whilst Roe Deers come good with the quirky and funky sounds of ‘Monkey Dance’.

‘Fire In Zero Gravity’ by duo Acolyte, touches on Detroit techno soul and inspirative piano work for their entry, and Jakobin seals off the EP with the ghostly ambience and shuffling beats of ‘Mighty Mt’.

Label owner Imanol delivers this diverse EP with influences from 90s House, Jazz, Funk, Disco and even a bit of Acid. Side A is packed with top collaborations. Fløste with energetic and emotive vocals in 'Might B OK', Andrés Juli contributing with a funky organic bass for 'Hard Funk' followed by Panko funkier remix of 'Acid n°4'. Side B contains an instrumental version of 'Might B OK' ending with 'Acid n°4' ready to rock the dancefloor at 124bpm plus a hard kick that will make you move to the beat.
