"Discoteca Italiana" is a contemporary interpretation of Italian club music from the past decades by Musumeci and 5 featuring artists.
The EP starts with "About Your Story" a joint opus with Andy Bros. A track with classic drum machines in a distinctive breakbeat pattern combined with orch hits, scratches performed by Italian Red Bull 3style champion Stonic and a voice that reminds us of the important things: "Passion, Soul, Glory".

The second track on the EP, "Bells of Freedom", a collaboration with Lehar, picks us up with driving arpeggios and a straight four by four beat.

Followed by "Go" a collaboration with Dodi Palese, a song inspired by a classic dance anthem. Rolling basslines, imposing tom fills and pads with a long release.

The fourth and last track is a symbiosis with Enzo Elia. Tension is created by intrinsically quiet sounds, which are presented to the listener at a habitual more aggressive texture, carried by a spherical chant by Stefano Proietti.

VV Cephei, also known as HD 208816, is an eclipsing binary star system located in the constellation Cepheus, approximately 5,000 light years from Earth. A red supergiant fills the system's Roche lobe when closest to its companion blue star, the latter appearing to be on the main sequence. Matter flows from the red supergiant onto the blue companion for at least part of the orbit and the hot star is obscured by a large disk of material. The red supergiant primary, known as VV Cephei A, is currently recognised as one of the largest stars in the galaxy, with an estimated solar radius of 1,050.

Creative partnership Audiofly are the next to release on Crosstown Rebels with the show stopping ‘In The (Last) Moment’ featuring the angelic voice of Georgia Lewis. The release comes complete with a steadfast remix from Germany’s Robag Wruhme.

‘In the (Last) Moment’ sets the foundation with broken chuggy beats as intricate layers and grumbling pads unfold beneath the beautiful sounds of Georgia’s voice. Audiofly explain that, "sometimes it’s nice to not have to write the usual peak time bomb, with this one we followed our hearts and the vibe of young vocalist Georgia Lewis and what emerged was a sunrise moment."

With 13 years behind them Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito AKA Audiofly have established a creative empire, which includes two record labels and their Flying Circus global party brand, which celebrated its 10th anniversary earlier this year with a world tour. Working harder than ever, a second artist album is in the works following on from 2011 long-player ‘Follow My Liebe’.

Industry veteran Robag Wruhme has more recently had releases on the likes of Kompakt and Pampa Records. Here he makes an imprint on Crosstown Rebels with this epic remix that fuses elated synths and industrial elements over solid rolling percussion.

The great building sprawled before the line of sight in the distance. At the end of the plaza it held an ancient presence, a disorientating and somewhat beautiful disarray of all that was wrong with this world. Inside were the decision makers, the captains of industry who helped to manipulate the fringes of society for their own ego focussed gain. A disgusting vision, a bizarre identity should not sit within a building so proud and tall. It was time to bring it down.

Copenhagen’s Nandu is a fast rising artist who imbues the idea of the smooth DJ transition into his new productions for Frankey and Sandrino's Sum Over History label.

After releasing his 3rd solo album One Man’s High Is Another Man’s Anxiety on Connected in the fall of 2018, and with a long line of cutting edge releases on labels such as Exit Strategy, Azzur, MoBlack and Rebirth, the always atmospheric Nandu brings plenty of new perspective to house and techno. As this new EP title suggests, 'Transitions' assembles various sounds, elements and ideas for three tracks that skip back and forth between various electronic sub-genres.

The fantastic opener unites deep soundscapes and a ravey, euphoric passage of synth work influenced by the 90s. Starting off with a bouncy bassline, a single key synth fills the high frequency space as an acid bleep brings more energy and helps the track surge into the future before finally bringing you back down again. It is truly a lesson in electronic ingenuity.

The same can be said of 'Stjerneskud', with a forward marching bass line, raw like a wooden plank, paired with melo-driven synth pads that slowly fade in and out. They make for a beautifully tasteful track that Nandu says is dedicated to his son.

Lastly, 'Found A Way' emphasises the soundscapes that 'Transition' and 'Stjerneskud' partly hinted at.

Built around multiple synth chords that create a mix of euphoria and sentimentally, Nandu implements vocoder-edited vocals before a big break, then the return of the synth-melody and the bass which carry you away.

From deep, dark and raw sounds to acid and euphoria, Nandu's three tracker offers a brief history of electronic music's many influences all smoothly blended into something new and fresh.
