A folk/country track about being taken advantage of and the type of person who picks vulnerable people out to be used. Every word is true. 

The wonderful Alfredo Reed helped me record and produce this, Joe Sage did the vocal production and the mix and Steve Kerrison did the master. Three wonderful guys I wouldn’t have the track without.

On Your Mind was written after a long sleepless night listening to the Bernard Herrmann score for the 1960 ‘Psycho’ film. It was partially recorded in my bedroom in June of 2021 and is my ode to ‘murder pop’.

Art doesn't have to be perfect sometimes it just has to be.

The release is a mashup of two songs: ‘Swear To Me’ by myself and ‘Love Is Always Blind’ by J*e L**th. Both songs were written during our teenage years and are open letters of love and the anxieties that come with it. Lydia decided to record a mashup of the two songs as a passion project looking fondly back on their youth and the mistakes they made.

In Lydia’s own words, “It’s my response to me
discovering my sexuality and grappling with
 this comfort I’d found with someone that didn’t fit
into my own view of who I was or what I thought I
wanted.”
Lydia's career has already reached impressive heights with the singer/songwriter performing at Soundcity in 2023, Eurovision In The Park, and is currently getting ready to play Loopfest this May. They have formed a warm community online through sharing their story and music on social media that’s filtered into a loyal, passionate fanbase.
The single was written by Lydia themselves first at sixteen as an acoustic folk track  it was developed through their live performances into a fan favorite track that Lydia felt, “Needed fresh eyes.’ It was developed in Ark studios headed by Jacob Murphy, Cuthie Towneley and Daisy Doyle and then finished off in studio with Rory Ballantyne and Lydia themselves.
