Are setbacks a part of progress?

edition of 15, consisting of a10inch vinyl record with a track of 6’38” + poster of 1 x 1,5 m(...)

This artist edition was made on the occasion of the exhibition The Empty Foxhole, the laureates exhibition at HISK curated by Philippe van Cauteren (SMAK). Van Cauteren asked every artist to make an artist edition especially for the exhibition.

The heart of my edition is the sound piece (...) hunt the hunter while he hunts. To compose it, I used a visual score, a sequence of 246 still frames from a short video I made of a churchfloor in Barcelona. The sound is a layering of pieces of field recordings, re-recordings, harp (striken with a a violinstick), synths and saxophone by Eric Sleichim. Around the record, there’s a folded poster, with a photo of the visual score of stills that was pinned to a wall in my sound recording studio.
