Violeta has spent the last 10 years roaming the full spectrum of the music industry, from her early days as an event organiser and journalist in her native Bucharest to the front lines of the Berlin scene as a DJ, radio host, writer and DJ tutor. 

Her Flight Mode show on @refugeworldwide is a passionate crate dig, always on the lookout for weird and wonderful balearic, disco and afrobeat. 

As an 90's kid, she brings nostalgia into her sets, playing old school house and techno paired with fresh releases from leftfield labels and classics alike.

An assiduous member of the local collective & festival 'Positive Education', he signed his first EP 'Anatole Trance' on the house label 'Worst Records' in 2019, followed by numerous appearances on 'Dischi Autunno', 'Vernacular Records' and 'Bamboo Shows'. A member of the 'Le Marais' project alongside Brahim Lumière and Guillaume Lamorte, Jacques Satre is fond of trance sounds in his sets and productions in a downtempo, mechanical and industrial dynamic.

For the next mix in our podcast series, we welcome a special mix from DJ City live at Gegen, Pornceptual, RSO, Berlin. 

'Johan originally hailing from Stockholm, now residing in Berlin is known for long eclectic DJ sets, effortlessly moving within the various shapes of house, disco & techno. Holding down a residency at the infamous Cocktail D‘Amore party series, he’s become an integral part of the Berlin scene. 

With his musical productions he‘s been equally versatile. Since his debut on Public Possession in 2019 he found a temporary sweet spot in what could vaguely be described as vocal house, but in fact is much more, taking influences from EBM, Italo and electro clash all tied together by his deep, poetic, tongue in cheek lyrics. 

His songs dealing with love, sex, beliefs & life in a modern metropolis are quite likely being cued up world wide by the likes of Gerd Janson, Jennifer Cardini, Perel, Sedef Adasi and Seth Troxler"

The start of the year is always tough and with rekordbox struggles, Johan drifts us  back to the night of New Years Day where he played on day 2 of 4 at Berlin's RSO night club for Gegen and Pornceptual, who had joined forces to celebrate the New Year. 

In the words of Johan. "I played the penthouse floor which was like a secret little chalet hidden in the attic in one of the former factory buildings. I played my music surrounded by dancers and queer monsters and gods that made me feel both lost and right at home at the same time, just how the night should feel!"

This mix is from Palm Pilot and Break Mode under their moniker Freak Out! and it references a lot of things they play at their nights in Portland. They like to ride the wave where genres collide and create euphoric moments that can be exciting or excite them at least. They take the dancefloor along for the ride.
