Factory Works

In memoriam Achim Szepanski (1957-2024), founder of the Mille Plateaux record label and inspiring human being.

Andrea Taeggi, Snd, Tim Hecker, Alva Noto, Andreas Tilliander, Sutekh/Rrose, Pole... Many of my heroes were found on the Clicks & Cuts compilations or on the Mille Plateaux label.

Such sounds brought me depth.
Peace.
Space...

So much left to discover.

I started with the abstract beats that I love so much in the work of the artists cited above.
Trying to give most percussions their own sound…
Until I reached the limit of capacity of the machine.
Then I added some sad yet cheerful synth in the background…
To get the mix of sadness and closure that I can feel when someone has passed whose work I admire and will forever keep living in my heart.

Played live. All mixed together within the almighty Analog Rytm. No further arranging. Yet.

We both took part to the elaboration of it, from playing sounds to mixing the result in Ableton.
