@okodj : A set recorded for La Fête de la Musique event of Oddity Radio, without knowing in advance that it was going to be recorded and published afterwards, which I have liked! This allowed me to play without having the "post live" experience in mind, so it's really honest and raw. The energy was super nice and I have reconnected with a lot of parisian friends at this party !

Musically it's a compilation of my summer favourites, including a bunch of very different genres as always : post punk, sexy house, industrial, amapiano, you name it !

A sunny July day. You're in an old pine forest by the river. You can hear the rustling of the branches, the crunch of pine cones under your feet, and the engine of a lone motorboat. Walking beside you is the person who unexpectedly agreed to spend three hours getting here on a stuffy commuter train. The subtle aroma of shashlik and a familiar song from the early 2000s drifts over from either the «professor’s» dachas or the abandoned recreation center nearby. Later on, there will be much more: a steep sandy cliff and a gravel-laden barge, chilled white wine and a small white plane in the sky, lots of awkward jokes and refreshing river water. Of course, you don’t know yet, but years later you will remember this day as one of the best in your life. And if it could be made into music, it would be a patrin’s mix for 5/8: radio

Off The Record this month takes a dive into the mind of Chicago artist and musician Beau Wanzer. 
Wanzer is commonly known for records on Ron Morelli's L.I.E.S. imprint as well as working with labels like Brew, L.A. Club Resource, iDEAL, Natural Sciences, and Nation. His in touch ear with industrial, electro and experimental music has seen him work alongside the likes Traxx and Steve Summers as the excellent Mutant Beat Dance, Dan Jugle as the head banging Juzer and more recently De-Bons-en-Pierre with Maoupa Mazzocchetti. 
For this mix Wanzer goes no holds bared into the world of tape culture with noisey and hissing electro and synth tunes as well as some chuggy industrial moments. We had a quick chat with Beau about the mix and what he has coming up!

Such a pleasure to have Soleil Rouge doing a mix. This has been in the pipeline a long time, but what a beautiful piece to wait for. 
Marie & Antoine run the great Soleil Rouge label, as well are part of the Paturia festival. 
"The story behind this mix is made in the light of our tender friendship for Fanny & Manu".
I think we can relate to the feeling that this mix is just as eerie as it's soothing.

Sonic storytelling from Glasgow's ambient power duo Somewhere Press. The mix is, according to Caapi and Lizzie Urquhart, a musing on the Divine Feminine, which got me thinking about something James Hillman, archon of all things archetypal, said about the study of Beauty. Apparently (so says James) the ancient root of the word "Aesthetics" comes close to meaning "I breathe in" and the mixes, releases and vibe of Somewhere Press has certainly breathed something beautiful into Glasgow's musical landscape. We hope you enjoy this latest Forecast addition and urge you to keep an eye out for the upcoming "The Blue Hour" compilation coming out soon via Boomkat. We can assure you that you wont be disappointed.
