Hitting release number three, Slush Records remaster and reissue Spacer IV aka James Zeiter’s sought-after 1997 EP on Pleasure Records. The man behind a slew of lauded records under a variety of different aliases, his sound is one that is cherished for orbiting the spheres of progressive trance and atmospheric dub techno. This four-track EP, however, saw James venture into unchartered territory, exploring a more melodic, house-tinted spectrum, before flipping back into the progressive techno-trance underbelly.

Spacer IV - EP (SLUSH003)

While putting this mix together, @elsa-9-9 discovered that her collection could be split into two parts: on one side, the tech and progressive house of the 90s and 00s, and on the other, the newer, deeper techno and bass. In this mix, she brings these two elements together seamlessly, creating a cohesive journey that's both driving and uplifting with moments of depth and darkness.

Dogmatic ep 9 - Skylab Radio

Last March, our good friend @opulmcr made his live debut in the main room of Wellington Studio for the second edition of Positive Harmony.

For about an hour, a small, intimate crowd gathered to experience a set that opened with deep, contemplative ambient layers textured and immersive before gradually moving into more minimal, groove-driven sounds.

The whole performance felt elegant and meditative, capturing a unique moment of focused creativity within the artist’s space, far from the club environment.

Opul - Hybrid Live Set @ Positive Harmony - 01/03/25

With "Campo de Cielo," my remix for Ewan Rill, I wanted to create an immersion into calmness, a space that expands limitlessly, just like the sky in its fullness. I designed it with a delicate progression in mind, one that caresses new frequencies, gently guiding you towards sonic horizons you might not expect.

For me, this track is an invitation to contemplation, to let yourself be carried by the serenity of its beginning and and feel how the music lifts you towards that infinity we often seek.

It's a true pleasure for me to remix someone I consider a great producer, with such a distinguished career and so many years of experience as Ewan Rill. A special thanks to Droid9 South America for the invitation to be part of this.

Con "Campo de Cielo", mi remix para Ewan Rill, quise crear una inmersión en la calma, un espacio que se expandiera sin límites, igual que el cielo en su plenitud. Lo diseñé pensando en una progresión que acariciara nuevas frecuencias, llevándote suavemente hacia horizontes sonoros que quizás no esperabas.

Para mí, este track es una invitación a la contemplación, a dejarse llevar por la serenidad del inicio y sentir cómo la música te eleva hacia ese infinito que buscamos.

Es un verdadero placer para mí remezclar a alguien a quien considero un gran productor, con una carrera tan destacada y tantos años de experiencia como Ewan Rill. Un agradecimiento especial a Droid9 South America por la invitación a ser parte de esto.

In the summer of 1998, DJ S orchestrated the Mediterranean’s very first UK Garage event whilst enjoying his honeymoon in Cyprus.

He invited DJ Spoony and MC Creed to the then little-known coastal resort of Ayia Napa and lit the fuse of a very British love affair.

For the following five summers London’s shuffle and swing soundtracked the sandy beaches of Cyprus’ southern shore, spreading the UK gospel and fortifying the genre’s reputation as a cultural force to be reckoned with. 

Whilst Ayia Napa has changed in the quarter century since, UK garage remains synonymous with the summer sun.

When temperatures rise and the season’s first rays pierce through the winter gloom, you’ll hear a 2-step beat faster than you can say factor fifty.

The chicken and egg question is: did the Ayia Napa years reshape UKG into a summer sound, or was UKG already the perfect soundtrack to those warm summer nights?

Whilst you philosophise on that, I’ve recorded a garage mix for all the hot days ahead.
