Third Space has firmly cemented himself back into that head-snapping drum ‘n bass percussion he initially poked his head through. While his recent jaunt for Longform Editions reached into smeared and smudged time portals, stretching time into its most razor-thin edge, this release brings these two worlds together in harmony. Although, those abstract whirlpools have reappeared, through noise and blown out static-as-percussion akin to Emptyset, Ikeda etc. etc.

Throughout dot points, there is an acute awareness around how much solid ground to allow an audience. An instinctive ear for rhythm and texture pushes composition to its limits but keeps more recognisable elements an arm’s length away, keeping immersion consistent, constant – an idea that’s been in Third Space’s work from the start. The tracks are daringly short but remain fully fledged songs, rich with layer and consideration, percussion building as lyrical prose, unwinding stanza by stanza.

While definitely drifting back into the realm of dance music, this is not Third Space leaving drone and tonal shifts behind him. This is merely dipping his toes back into the water of the world he first started in, ready to contribute something new after coming up for air.

Whether through building the programming of the impetuous Macadam, with his intersectionnal crew named Zone Rouge, or in his sharp sets ranging from organic ambient, disorienting bass, to a resigned techno, Aasana is a bright daredevil, embodying the plurality of what electronic music can offer, with its diverse and uninhibited aesthetics & projects.

~ This podcast draws its inspiration from one of my recent dreams. It all begins aboard a train, speeding towards an unknown destination. Through the window, I see only wild landscapes, lush with greenery, stretching endlessly into the distance. Then, suddenly, the train reaches its terminus. In front of me stands a colossal stone door, carved like a riddle.

I step onto the platform, the train pulls away, leaving me alone... or almost. I look around. The setting, imbued with an early 20th-century London atmosphere, emerges in the flickering glow of the street lamps, making the wet ground glisten. In the distance, at the far end of this seemingly endless platform, I glimpse a figure. A man approaches, his unsteady gait wavering between that of a drunkard and a zombie. Strangely, I feel no threat. The man seems to simply wander, perhaps he was the station’s caretaker, slowly driven mad by loneliness.

I continue to take in this peculiar place. In the distance, I can once again see the wild vegetation I had admired just moments before. But here, the landscape is darker, almost austere, with raw stones dominating the space. I feel as though I am in a vast cavern, where every step echoes beneath a vaulted ceiling that rises nearly thirty meters above me. Water trickles down the gray rock walls, partially covered with moss and long, mysterious roots unknown to me. Small streams wind their way across the platform, creating cracks as their peaceful sounds soothe my senses.

Then, turning around, I notice the door has vanished. Now, I find myself facing a vast, black tunnel, from which strange noises emerge. I realize that I am standing at the entrance to my own subconscious. This podcast recounts that arrival, but more importantly, it chronicles a journey into the unfathomable abyss of my mind, a dark chasm for which I hold no keys. ~

For my new show, I will be diving in a shoreless sonic continuum. 
Once every two months I&amp#39;ll be on my own, trying to draw connections between genres, eras, intentions, or even feelings, to emphasize what appears to me as logical relations between sounds. From &ampquot;Gorillaz-type beats&ampquot; to Torchouze Disco, I&amp#39;ll try to suggest a sensitive approach to mixing.
Every other months, I will be joined by friends and foes from around the continuum, to get their perspective on how they approach and deal with their own sensitive listening.

This month, I&amp#39;m taking you on an exploration of the controversial and unloved genre that is black metal, but without playing any of it. For this thesis, I tried to identify the key emotions of this music, such as depression, violence, extreme sadness, resilience, folklore. I then located these emotions inside other tracks of other genres, and arranged them together to issue some kind of a blueprint for black metal. I&amp#39;m obviously talking the whole time. Enjoy !
