My wife and I have lost 3 grandparents through the course of 2021. All three of them were wonderful people who left beautiful legacies. This series "gpts" will seek to celebrate each of them individually.
Ronald Miller was a gentle and kind-hearted person who loved his wife and children deeply. He took immense pride in his Iowa farm and tended it with care, love, and respect for the vast majority of his life. This song attempts to recreate a small slice of the beauty present in midwestern farmland.

Gesaffelstein's "Pursuit", performed live on a Teenage Engineering PO-32 "Tonic" Pocket Operator as well as a Malmsjö Piano.

I tried to be as close as possible to the original, combining both programmed patterns (used up all 16 of them) as well as live playing (used up 15 out of 16 sound slots, creating all sounds in Microtonic). The PO-32 has 16 sounds but only four channels, meaning that it takes some planning in order to perform it. But challenges are fun! Sound 13, 15 and 16 are silent - in order to have access to quick mutes. No effects, limiting or EQ applied - all comes straight from the output. (and mic... :) ) The strong bass-to-kick sidechain ducking was emulated by lowering the volume on bass notes placed on kick notes (using a morph location between a low volume and high volume sound).
