Guided by Club Music and Hard Drums, incorporating elements of Amapiano, UK Funky, Guaracha, and Funk Carioca, the single revives the percussive influences from the origins of the DJ and producer’s project. Embracing the international moment of funk and bringing high-energy drum beats, the track was created to fuel carnival nights in underground scenes across Brazil and beyond.

The track features vocals from the song "Ei Moto Taxi" by the Carioca funk artist MC Monik do Pix and is also a tribute to Cerro Corá, the favela where Lym currently resides.

For our September episode of Ginene Radio, we dive into the vibrant queer scene of São Carlos with Dan3u as our guide. While his broader practice spans hard techno, Latin music, ghetto club and deconstructed club, this set hones in on the raw, percussive energy of Chicago footwork and Jersey club, layered with Latin influences. The mix unfolds as a dense, unpredictable journey through complex grooves and bold, boundary-pushing sounds, an unapologetic celebration of identity, community and the fearless pulse of São Carlos’ queer nightlife.

Artist Bio
Daniel Souto, also known as Dan3u, has been an active dj and cultural producer since 2018. In the Brazilian countryside, there was little space for queer people and alternative artistic expressions, so in 2022, together with friends, he founded 220 collective (@coletivo.220). The aim was to give a stage to queer alternative artists from the region. With a background in mixing and musical research, he became the resident dj at Coletivo 220’s parties, gaining prominence in the region’s alternative and electronic music scene. His musical research focuses on the intersection of hard techno, latin music styles, ghetto club and deconstructed club, crafting sets that connect with queer communities ,bringing them to the forefront of the dance floor.
