The intention is to underline the importance of transparency for a healthy democracy and to support whistleblowers for providing transparency where transparency is due.
From an artistic point of view it is quite polarising to turn the sounds of a massacre into a dance track. This is somehow intentional, as if to make the audience feel bad about having fun. To make you aware of the privilege you have to exercise your right to party.
Still, use this track with care as the circumstances may not be appropriate.

Don't Take Techno Too Seriously!!!

Italian friends of mine think the way electronic music got forbidden on East German radio sometime around 1988 was extremely inappropriate. That's why the year after the wall came down. This is Honecker's announcement on radio why so-called "bit musik" was no longer welcome in the so-called "German Democratic Republic." This event is not to be confused with the banning of "Beatmusik" in the 70s. Actually I might have all my facts wrong, so don't take this for a history lesson.  :)

I edited this track because the original proved hard to beatmatch. With a new intro in front and an outro at the end it is easy to mix now. Sorry if I can't offer you a download for this one. I have ideas for a more advanced version of this edit, anyway.. so consider it a work in progress.

By the way, the "Disk Dump & Restore" module on IBM mainframes was popular among "hackers" as it had the funny side effect of making files available that were supposed to be invisible.

Like everyone here, I've been deejaying and producing since teenage days. Music is a question of taste, but you can expect some quality things here productionwise - normalized in frequency spectrum and loudness, ready for DJ use.

My tracks are uploaded as hi-fi variable bitrate MP3s. VBR is roughly equivalent to 256 bps. 320 is pointless, as a 44.1kHz/16bit file will mathematically never use more than 256. Funny how everyone on soundcloud seems to think 320 is good. In any case, MP3 will always mean a certain amount of loss, so the only way to avoid that is to use WAV/AIFF/FLAC or RAR. In professional productions you should never employ MP3, no matter how high the bitrate.
