Being in this scene has made me so miserable. I hate the way it all functions. Its high school all over again. Theres the popular kids, and to fit in you have to mold yourself into what they expect. Youre supposed to make a certain kind of music, act a certain way online, and maintain a certain image. And if you dont, youre talked down to and treated as worthless. The fact that so many people in this scene come from marginalized backgrounds and still engage in harmful, hypocritical behavior makes it even worse. So common to see autistic people casually using the r slur, or pushing shame onto others for no reason, while claiming to be part of a progressive and inclusive community. Youre all so dishonest and performative

No one talks directly about anything. No one wants to have actual conversations. Everyone hides behind their fucking aura. Everything is so carefully constructed. And, of course, every artist performs an image to an extent, and theres nothing wrong with that. But when your image becomes your entire ego, and when you cant separate yourself from the image youve built, you get an environment totally built on status. Thats what this is. All of it started affecting me. I started acting like those people. Being quiet. Secondguessing everything i said. Trying to maintain an image. I hate that. I dont want to be part of this. I just want to make music with people i trust

On top of that, theres so much shit that everyone here ignores. I dont understand how so many of you still support Jane remover and her circle. Genuinely fuck every single one of them. Fuck everyone in DeadAir. Youre all fake, miserable, and none of you ever hold yourselves or each other accountable. I dont care about what new aura youre pushing. You built your entire sound and aesthetic off black artists, and now youre just allowed to turn on a black accent when it suits your image. None of this is new. Its part of a long history of white artists stealing from black culture without taking any responsibility for it. This is modern blackface. It keeps happening because most of you either dont care enough to learn or dont want to risk saying anything that might affect your place in the scene

If youve never looked into this, i really encourage you to do so. Search what a blaccent is. Look into how often black artists get pushed out while others profit off watereddown versions of their work. This isnt some made up shit to create drama. These are all visible and documented problems, and theyre everywhere in this scene

To be clear. This is bigger than Jane, DeadAir or the artists around them. Because they created a space where your image is prioritized over basic ethics. And the people in those spaces who claim to care about being queer, or autistic, or that marginalization matters are the quietest when it comes to speaking up. If you benefit from this, and stay silent when racism happens right in front of you, youre completely worthless

I dont want to be part of this. I dont give a fuck about having an image. I dont want to have to navigate this weird social economy totally based on vibes. I want to make music with people who are actually themselves and who speak up when somethings wrong. Thats not what this scene is and will ever be as long as no one speaks up
