Written by Carole King and Gerry Goffin for the Monkees film "Head." There is a raw songwriting demo of Carole King playing this on the piano and singing floating around on YouTube and it's a very holy thing. Her piano doesn't sound like a piano, and it's clipping, and phasing weirdly and somehow it makes my brain flip over sideways. I wanted my guitar to sound kind of like a cross between that and the pipe organ in the Monkees' version.
