Here is a song that I based on an old Turkish tune. I don't know what the original piece is called. Way back in the 90s I used to play in a Turkish Wedding band and this was one of the songs we used to do. I have a cassette tape of us playing it. The lyrics are in Turkish and I don't understand or speak the language so I wrote my own lyrics to it.

Having been to Uganda on two occasions to Buikwe, I have simply fallen in love with the music.

When creating this piece I used the words phonetically to create the tune as I don’t speak the language at all

This is what I used by just saying the sounds:

Atutikule, Akyusa, Akyusa,
Oyo Yekka Akyusa
Akyusa ouli muntu yenna, amusembeza 


I believe the translation is something like this:

He can give us freedom.
Let's come back to the Lord.
For Jesus has the power to transform.
He tranforms the life of anyone who believes in Him.


When translated back to English it’s this:

Asobola okutuwa eddembe.
Ka tuddeyo eri Mukama.
Kubanga Yesu alina amaanyi okukyusa.
Akyusa obulamu bw'omuntu yenna amukkiririzaamu.

Lyrics sent to me by school friend Anthony Heard. He wrote the words about his suffering with Immune thrombocytopenia.

Immune thrombocytopenia (formerly known as idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura) is a medical term for an autoimmune disorder (immune) causing a shortage of platelets (thrombocytopenia) and bruising (purpura). 

ITP is an autoimmune disease in which the immune system mistakes the platelets as being foreign and destroys them. It can follow a virus, vaccination or certain medications, but for most people the cause is unknown.
