Notes for the Melodyne group. I came up with a better way of tuning my trumpet using Melodyne. Instead of tuning to one tone, I record some preliminary trumpet lines, bring them into Melodyne and see how in (or out) of tune I am on entire phrases. I found this led to fewer and more gentle corrections later. Melodyne was also used to align the timing in the pentatonic riff at the end. Those are two different recordings done without reference to each other, not a simple copy, paste and offset. Earlier in the track I used Melodyne to make harmonies and other "instruments" by lowering pitch and changing the formants and one sound effect by moving a note up 2 octaves and raising the formant.
