It was an amazing party from my friends from The Monkey Bar in Barcelona, where I got to play with Axel for the very first time. Alfonso (Hain Dutt at the time), started the night, then me and Axel b2b with Axel playing the last 30 min alone of the set before @dixon took over.

For the inaugural edition, we've invited DJ, producer, crate digger pur sang and dear friend MLiR. He delivered a mix that plays like a mirage: humid, pulsing, and slightly out of reach. Dusty rhythms rise like heat from sunbaked earth, synths shimmer like moonlight on black water, and low-slung basslines guide us through jungle clearings.

Nothing here is rushed. Tempos stretch and sway. Each track is a step deeper into the unknown, stitched together with a gentle hand and an ear tuned to atmosphere over genre. Synth pop melts into dream-state house, lo-fi textures wash against crystalline grooves, and the edges blur—until all that’s left is feeling.

This is what it means to go Off Course: no algorithms, no directions, just intuition—and a desire to get beautifully lost.

The Swedish superduo Einar Christoffersson and Marco Gegenheimer broke through in 2016 via their EP "Swedish Lo-Life," released on the eclectic Studio Barnhus label. Born from a love of heavily dug DJ sets, late-night studio sessions, and live organic elements; they channel a whole universe of stories.
MLiR always has something to say through their sounds, constantly expanding their musical journey. They’ve had varied support during the years from DJ Harvey, Hunee, Antal, Kamma & Masalo, Laurent Garnier, Axel Boman, Lipelis, Jonny Rock, Danilo Plessow, Gilles Peterson, DJ Koze, Roman Flügel, Move D, Nicola Cruz, Haai, and Prins Thomas, to name a few.
The MLiR SoundCloud page is filled with mixes for NTS, DHA, Dekmantel, Dekmantel Selectors, Planet Trip, Kiosk Radio, Worldwide FM, Krossfingers, and others. With releases on Marco and Arnau Obiols’ own Taf Kif Records, Ibadan, and Shall Not Fade, 2024 brought to light their debut album, a 16-track double LP, once again, on home base Studio Barnhus.
Marco (the DJ of MLiR), who was behind the online record store Magic Teapot Records, runs the party ”Calamari Rolls Royce” at the hyped Club Malasaña in Madrid on a regular basis. More to come is another album for Maher Daniel, Bill Patrick, and Jesse Roig's newly started Stratasonic Records; more edits on Smutty Edits; plus one more album for Music From Memory in 2026. MLiR are not tucking themselves under any sombreros!"

”Trans-World Junktion tells the story of El Marcianito, a Martian on an interplanetary mission. He has landed on Earth in an attempt to resurrect a ghost that lives in an acid swamp, a token of the dead state of mankind. Regardless of the warnings; fragile ecosystems, political instability and poverty, humans have been fooled. Greed and pacifying technologies have distracted them from the truth. 

In 'El Baile de Los Muertos', the "resurrected" and now conscious humans joyfully dance and celebrate in a glimmer of light and hope. All seems calm and peaceful after the celebrations, but something is not right. The leakage of toxic substances from the swamp has led mutated monsters to rise up with fury against the humans. Mother Nature has reacted, but is the damage caused irreversible? 

A frantic chase and battle begins in 'Mania', where El Marcianito and MLiR finally manage to escape to the utopian Planet O, seeking wisdom from the almighty Octopus Gods. Will it be too late when they return?
