They have recently revisited an old DOTB remix they did of quite a big 80s xmas track in the UK, it was initially made around the same time as they did their Cruel Summer edit. They played it a few times but it was never released so never saw the light of day. They have just reworked & finished it off properly & had it mastered to give away for FREE as a fitting download! Deniece Williams’s soul-stirring single ‘Free’ first flew onto the scene in 1976, from her debut album This Is Niecy. Co-written by Williams alongside Hank Redd, Nathan Watts, and Susaye Greene, and crafted under the masterful musical direction of Maurice White and Charles Stepney, the track marked her breakthrough as a solo artist. It soared to No. 2 on the US R&B (Hot Soul) chart and cracked the Billboard Hot 100 at No. 25, but it was across the pond in the UK where it truly reigned – holding the No. 1 spot on the Singles Chart for two weeks in May 1977.

Blending intimate, whispery vocals with lush, soulful instrumentation, ‘Free’ became an enduring emblem of heartfelt expression in the late-’70s soul scene. My take — made for the funky floor. To ease out your shapes. Practised and new — go get ‘em...

Gabu opens a new chapter with the launch of a fresh series, and the first release comes from none other than Dabous, the Riyadh-based producer making waves far beyond the Saudi underground. Known for his deep, hypnotic house and dub-infused sound, Dabous has already brought his energy to stages like MDL Beast Soundstorm, performing alongside global icons of the scene.

With Ceiling, he strips things down to their essence: mysterious pulses, heavy low-end echoes, and the kind of heady groove that lingers long after the last beat fades. It’s music that feels at once intimate and expansive, born from the underground, shaped for deep listeners, and carrying the unmistakable Gabu signature.

Malta's Melchior Sultana is a multi-instrumentalist with releases on labels like Ten Lovers Music, Oath and Underground Quality. Not to mention his own Profound Sound Music label or collaborations with Owen Jay. Here he debuts on Cataleya Music with Ghost, which is an uplifting deep winner with a Mediterranean feel. The vocals from Janelle Pulo give it a spiritual edge. Guitars and synths do the heavy lifting. Kai Alcé's NDATL Remix really focuses on the piano keys, taking it further into Deep and Spiritual territory. Vick Lavender's Higher Frequency Remix is a brass and key journey. This heavier interpretation gets seriously jazzy later on. Ghost is a strong debut from Sultana, backed by high quality remixes.
