Invoking the spirits of Carabali, and reviving a divine dance of the Ireme,
“Abakwa” (Future Roots Mix) is the latest consociation between producers Shaman's Dream, Liquid Bloom & Poranguí.

A multi-hued expedition back in time, the kaleidoscopic track explores ancient traditional rhythms and medicinal chants, revolutionized by modern production technologies into an entirely new work of salubrious sound art. Travel to secret spiritual societies in Cuba, toast a Guaguanco -the Matanzas-style rumba - across the high seas and arrive in Nigeria, to dance the Sobuninkum in celebratory masquerades on the banks of the Cross River.

The relationship between these inspired collaborators stretches long miles and many moons. Liquid Bloom’s contributions arrive by way of the ever-prolific Amani Friend (Desert Dwellers), who has worked with Shaman’s Dream in various artistic and community capacities for nearly two decades. São Paulo, Brazil’s Poranguí, beloved in ecstatic dance
and medicinal music circles around the world, naturally flowed into the bosom of this musical partnership.

Born from an organic instrumental project Sahuna Love (Shaman’s Dream) first recorded years ago, “Abakwa” (Future Roots Mix) finds this production trifecta breathing new life into potent, primordial sounds. The track traverses sonic geographies; from a steady driving slow-house pulse peppered with buoyant percussion, to a throbbing, 6/8 psychedelic bass
pattern that navigates familiar topography. The entirety of the journey is punctuated by divine chants and reverent vocals.

Cedar Moon is the first track released from a 3 song EP called “Earth Keepers” produced by Shaman’s Dream, Poranguí and Eric Zang.

The song was a gift to Sahuna from an old growth Cedar Tree under the full moon at his home in Nevada City. When recorded, it was done in one take with Shaman’s Dream on Hang Drum, Poranguí on Ngoni, Eric Zang on Kaval Flute and Beats created by Geometrae.

Cedar Moon reflects the healing energy that comes from opening, listening and allowing spirit to work through us. Trusting in the power of being in the moment and improvising from a place of deep listening.

The Earth Keepers project emerged from a personal inquiry between Poranguí and Sahuna Love (Shaman’s Dream) around what it means to be better stewards of our sacred Earth Mother. At the core of this question came the understanding that we are each bodies comprised of the Earth elements and can only care for Mother Gaia when we cultivate & care for our body in relation to a place.

Guided by the principles of reciprocity and complementarity we are more capable of living in right relation to the elements and all of life. Rooted through the body & inspired from the breath, we dance & sing as an offering to life helping us conduct ourselves through the world and everyday choices with care for this precious planet we call home.

Sol is the fourth offering of the Kuya Sessions. Cura led us on a shamanic journey of body-centered awareness. Our journey continued in Samadhi, unifying individual and universal consciousness. Akasha brought us to exquisitely ethereal realms and now Sol carefully weaves the terrestrial and celestial sounds of our ancient solar origin as children of the sun. 

“Igniting the Sacred” beckons us to venture beyond the familiar world of illusion. In preparation for the great journey ahead, the soothing sound of vocalist Meagan Chandler and Poranguí ask the benevolent guardian Spirits to open the roads and grant us safe passage.   

Gently purified in the celestial flames of truth, the imaginal cells of our awareness emerge from the primordial sound of “Liminal Sun” to reconnect with the original solar pulse of all creation.  Ancestral Nahuatl invocations carry us across the timeless song lines to meet our heart’s most sacred essence.  

As we emerge in “The Great Turning”, we are embraced by the rolling thunder of our majestic blue home amidst the vast cosmos.  Through the dark side of the Sol, we return more whole, awakening to the blessings of the Waters with an original prayer song for the Afro-Brazilian goddess of the sea, Iemanja, and a morning water prayer song from Native American elder, Chief Delbert “Blackfox” Pomani of the Hunkpapa Lakota.

Embedded within the sonic signature of the world’s oldest musical lineages and enhanced with field recordings and samples from across the globe, Kuya Sessions: Sol is best experienced in its Journey Mix format, where the boundaries between the three movements are as ephemeral as the voyage itself. In preparation for embarking on this ritualistic path, one is invited to create an environment for inner exploration with the help of a quiet and dark room, headphones, an eye mask, and an intention of healing and discovery. 

Sol draws upon a grounding array of ancient instruments, field recordings, indigenous invocations, and therapeutic musical stylings while showcasing Poranguí and Liquid Bloom’s alchemical, multi-dimensional sound. Distilled from the intention of providing listeners a path toward healing and a safe space from which to embark on that odyssey, Kuya Sessions: Sol will continue to reveal itself with each subsequent visit for all who desire its therapeutic guidance. 

The Kuya Sessions were created by Poranguí and Amani Friend (Liquid Bloom) in support of emerging paradigm-shifting medicine and psychedelic-assisted therapeutics to help people transform their lives into lives they love. Sol offers seekers a soundtrack for their journeys toward rebalancing and is now lovingly shared with listeners everywhere on behalf of the artists.

Divine Mother: She is a womb centred woman, who has surrendered open to the Divine flows of Divine Mother, father God Goddess.

 The Lover: Her erotic intelligence has lined up with Divinity. Her inner Aphrodite is in her temple and she is not leaking he sexual power. 

The Wild Women: Kali is the aspect of our shakti our erotic energy that is the fire of transformation. She is the current of liberation that can travel through our bodies and chakras purifying and clearing all the stuckness all the numbness if we have the courage to feel.

The Priestess: She has passed the initiation of the priestess, her devotional heart has cracked open and she has found the deep stillness and presence of the priestess and embodies her inner feminine and inner masculine as one ecstatic alchemical flow of creation. 

The Wise Women: The wise woman leads as her voice of authority and she leads through her kind heart. She is a womb centred woman and her voice echoes her instinctual wisdom and deep heart knowing.

Shakti Queen: She is a queen for she is not afraid to be seen in her vulnerability or her power. She shines her radiant light upon all beings she touches. The Queen is an ecstatic devotee of Divine and her life is lived through the heart in service and in surrender to Love.

Lannka - Wanderlust (AIWAA Remix)

The end of 2018 brings a new chapter to Liquid Bloom’s remix story as producer Amani Friend hands the reigns of one of his very first tracks over to nine rising and eminent producers for a contemporary reimagining. Whispers of Our Ancestors Remixes is the tale of a single journey told through nine different perspectives, each offering their own interpretation of the meditative soundscape first envisioned by Amani over twelve years ago. 

Like most of Liquid Bloom’s original tracks, “Whispers of Our Ancestors” draws upon a myriad of soothing instrumentals, delicate vocals, and serene elemental samples to create a musical landscape inspired by the shamanic experience and intended for inner exploration. Colored with gentle intrusions of Native American flutes and rattles, Indian-style stringwork, and hauntingly beautiful chanting, the track has offered its remixers a trove of provocative stems and samples to guide their unique sonic visions.

Within the collection, listeners encounter everything from broken-beat chillout and psychedelic bass to slow-house rhythms and techno-styled progressive beats. Connected by the defining features of the original track, each remixer uses distinct beat and bass elements to shape their tracks and explore the boundless layers hidden within the source material. 

Among the more expansive remixes, Master Minded offers up a hallucinatory array of fresh tribal instrumentals and energetic synths backed by an indulgent broken beat, while Ancestral Elephants adds a soothing beat progression that relishes in the slow and hypnotic potential of Liquid Bloom’s iconic soundscapes. Desert Tracks label artist Stratusphere explores the delicate and emotive aspects of Whispers with a richly textured psychill interpretation that could easily serve as an opening track to an emotional live performance.  

On the dancier side of the spectrum, past Liquid Bloom collaborator Drumspyder adds his signature drum styling and lively stringwork in an energetic, house-styled interpretation ready for the dance floor. On a similar wavelength, Desert Trax artist Griffin Paisley brings his ethereal “slow house” styling to the collection in an atmospheric journey ripe for morning explorations on a dusty dance floor.
