I've used indigenous instruments before in my past projects, however this one was the first I used live sampled instruments, and further created massive soundscapes for this project. Being someone with an indigenous background, I wish I could learn more about my lost culture. And nothing better than communicate with your ancestors through music.

My strength in music composition is perc programming, so I sampled what I could get my hands on in Ontario. Pow wow drum ensemble, with permission, for the main cinematic perc. Amazingly deep sounds from them. Šiyótȟaŋka, or Lakota version of flute.  Mapuche pan flute and water drum were used as background.

This track is heavily using synthwave retro sounds. The free synth Viking VK-1 is used for all the synths. Strings were from Berlin Orchestra Inspire 2 and Orchestra Swarm.

Why this track? It's a reflection if the society that treat our people like animals, and everyday we're being assimilate and culturally assassinated into modern lifestyle. We want our old ways back, we want our ancestral lands back. But we get to be told that we can't be ourselves.

But I gotta try. I can't idle no more to witness our society being stolen by settler-colonialists.
