These nice guys called "Doctors In Florence" asked me to do a remix late last year, for their upcoming track "Black Beat", which is now scheduled for release.  I'm kinda stoked because it's the first time anything I've ever done has been on iTunes or Beatport  :)  This is an edit of that track. Obviously I haven't been putting up new music lately, or for a while.  A lot of personal reasons for that.  I have been making music though, and I've got a heap of new tracks ready and I'll start putting them up more regularly now.  All tracks are going to be freely downloadable.

My dad died late last year, and this was the first track I made after that and I haven't uploaded anything new since that time, just remixes.  This track is kinda personal for me and I wanted to get it just right, so the last few weeks I reopened the project and went back to work mixing it.  Like a lot of you maybe, my Dad was a big influence on me musically, a huge influence.  Bought me my first guitar and introduced me to a wide range of really amazing bands.  He loved music and it was in his blood, flowed through his fingers into whatever he touched.  For a few years we'd had a strained relationship and when he died suddenly just before Christmas, I didn't have a chance to say goodbye.  He never heard any music I made, and I regret this so much, and even though he probably would have hated it, I think he would have still respected what I'd done and been pretty proud of me.  If only I could turn back that clock.

This is one of those Indaba competition things... but I didn't enter it because I'm lame and missed the deadline.  Only the vocal was supplied and no original song to reference/remix... I don't even know who the vocalist is, but she does a great job, though it was auto-tuned a little heavily for my taste.
