@caldera-caldera is an artist whose productions have had me in awe for ages. German but living in Brighton, UK, he runs a monthly radioshow on 1BTN. Caldera's sense of rhythms, texture & the overall hypnotic & dubby sides of techno is something I’ve always been super inspired by. "I’ve really been digging these older records I’ve got from like '98 - '03 that are sitting in this little sweet spot between tech house and techno. They have a real repetitive trancey vibe to them but in an off kilter kind of way. I wanted to mix these together with some more understated tunes that I have that I don’t get to play so much. I’ve really been loving these more moody tracks and b side vibe productions at the moment - probably a reflection of my own mood because of the weather in Melbourne at the moment, but it’s nice to get a chance to give these records a run that might be too challenging or moody for a summer dance floor full of smiles. As always there’s a mix of old and new, but it’s all on the same tip."

With Dan first catching our eye at parties with the Down to Earth collective in Bristol (namely an Underwater set in a tiny basement💦) we decided we had to give the Comma Traxx head the reigns for a Voyage.

"A lone traveller emerges from their crash-landed ship upon Plantera, uncertain of what land is before them and what mysteries await. Through the dense, purple mist a marshy woodland appeared. A luminous curiosity pulses from the forest that surrounds this lone wonderer, inviting them to explore with aimless enthusiasm.

Taking them through thick fog bewilderment with shimmers of panic2, enducing sporadic segments of sprinting for safety. Morphing through lucid curiosity into dark and dense dashes of adrenaline; always questioning 'where am I?' somehow their thoughts echoed off the surrounding trees, thick of reverberating thought bubbles. 

Despite a desire to feel scared, the wonderer somehow felt comforted by the surrounding vast atmosphere of Plantera. Ascending to the utopic tree city that inhabits the fog land, the local colony offers nourishment and peace to rest with ease, only a taster of the endless beauty that Plantera can offer"

You always can guarantee with a release from Dubbyman that not only will you get music with gorgeous depth and warmth, but also an EP that is versatile and generous as he often includes other musicians and producers in his projects. The Alpha Transmissions EP a long-awaited project is no exception with Dubbyman bringing his deep house and laid-back breakbeat style to Inner Shift Music. To our delight it also features label owners Brad P and Rai Scott. We last saw Dubbyman (along with Above Smoke) on Inner Shift on remix duties for the .Mahal. Space Space release where Inner Shift and Deep Explorer teamed up for 'the joint venture'. This versatile EP with its mix of deep house and downtempo breakbeat tracks includes contributions from talented musicians, collaboration, and remixes. 

As a bonus there are also two additional remixes of the A2 track 'In the Space' from label owners Brad P and Rai Scott respectively that are available as digital bonus tracks. If you buy the EP from the label’s website or Bandcamp page, the full digital EP with the two extra tracks is included.

Automatic Writing is set to release Murphie Cooper & Darween's 'What's Wrong With The Typewriter' EP on May 22, accompanied by a remix from Bruno Pronsato.

Bruno Pronsato's remix of 'Just Get Full' takes the original track and injects it with his own unique flair while staying true to the core elements of the original. The remix is more stripped down than the original, emphasizing minimal percussion and subtle textural details that add depth and dimension to the track. Pronsato's use of glitched-out percussive hits and intricate jazzy keys is a nod to his experimental tendencies. The result is a hypnotic groove that will keep dancers on the floor until the wee hours of the morning.

The original version of 'Just Get Full' has a more straightforward techno approach with a solid four-on-the-floor beat. The spoken word vocal is the track's centerpiece, providing a hypnotic and almost meditative quality to the music. Murphie Cooper & Darween's use of jazzy keys and swirling synths adds a dreamy atmosphere to the track, creating a sense of escapism that is perfect for the dancefloor.

While the original version of 'Just Get Full' is a great track in its own right, Bruno Pronsato's remix takes it to another level with its intricacy and attention to detail. Pronsato's groove-driven interpretation maintains the hypnotic spoken word vocal from the original but adds a touch of delicacy with jazzy keys and smooth subs, creating a seamless blend of minimal techno and jazz. 

The remix and the rest of the EP are set for release on May 22 via Automatic Writing.
