PERSISTENCE WIP

A little snippet preview of something currently in the works. Just piano, a vocal, and the sound from a suburban rooftop. All recorded in one take.

sunglasses on in the morning,
cause the light cuts too deep today
gave myself a fair warning
that i'd have to find another way
to learn my life back to front
to get somewhere that isn't here
to stumble on some confidence
to burn out bright then disappear

well i'm only awake when i am dreaming
a little feather in your ribcage feeling
that flutters in and flutters out
to make room for something tangible
if i feel my edges blurring
it means i'm part of something more

lately, i'm waking to abalone sky
not taking, or breaking, the turning of the tide

now that i’m gone i think i’ll start to take some time to figure out
just what it is that i felt
when i couldn’t feel nothing at all
just what it is that i need
like quiet or trees or tylenol

and a house is not broken into
until i can’t sleep a whole night through
until i see the tilt and the shade until
i feel the weight and feel the length of
the morning rays on my wrinkled sheets
of the hallway draft on my cheek
pulling me back into the fray

My first mix weeeeee.

When I applied for a job at 3FE on my application form when asked what I could bring to the team I said I'd make class playlists. This is a little mix of a few of the 100andsomething tracks you might find on that playlist. 

When you're working in a cafe everything comes in waves, so a lot of the music we have on helps us get into a certain fast workflow. Music is important. Let your staff listen to what they want and it pays off. 

We get to play a whole lot of class stuff you'd never hear around most places in town during the hours we're open.
