The second chapter of Mood Waves’ Digital Moods series finds the label crew and close affiliates navigating the smoother side of their sonic spectrum - though “smooth” here comes with the subtext of late-night mischief. Five tracks, five angles, yet a shared thread: music designed for the after-hours mind, whether that’s a living room deep dive or the final stretch of a club marathon. Among the contributions sits a slice of nocturnal hypnosis from one of the label’s own - DJ Tjizza - who uses Astrodome to remind us that sometimes the straightest path to transcendence is the one without any scenic detours.

With "Astrodome", DJ Tjizza strips things to their essentials: an Acid line with purpose, a rhythm that doesn’t waver, and a partly spoken vocal that lands like a coded message from another frequency. The groove is unrelenting, the atmosphere shaded in darker hues, and there’s no sense of playful meandering - Tjizza has you locked in from the first bar and keeps you there, suspended in a bubble where time bends to the beat. It’s a track that thrives in the later hours, when the crowd is less concerned with build-ups and breakdowns, and more attuned to the hypnotic momentum of a well-aimed groove.

With "Astrodome", DJ Tjizza delivers a distilled statement of intent that fits seamlessly into "Digital Moods 02’s" deep-flowing aesthetic while adding that edge of after-hours bite. Hitting the music press headlines recently was news of a second Floorplan album.  Now M-Plant delivers a first taste of this highly anticipated release with two tracks from the album, ‘Music’ and ‘Tell You No Lie’.

Floorplan is already well known as Robert Hood’s house, disco, funk and gospel outlet, which this year evolves into a family affair with co-production alongside his daughter, Lyric.  ‘Victorious’ will be the second Floorplan album and follow-up to 2013’s ‘Paradise’ which spawned ‘Let’s Ride, ‘Baby Baby’ and the massive ‘Never Grow Old’.

Set to replicate the success of ‘Paradise’, ‘Victorious’ will be released in June.  To precede it, the single released at the end of April is comprised of the bumping house groove of ‘Music’ (which received it’s first global airing on B.Traits’ BBC Radio 1 and 1Xtra show in February) and the disco rotations of ‘Tell You No Lie’. 

Both tracks are exceptionally infectious, with tough beats, glorious vocal reprises and sure not to disappoint.

The synth-led &#8220;Hate Of Fear&#8221; is full of arpeggios and menacing electronics, all balanced out perfectly by the cavernous vibe which takes us to the closing &#8220;Blair&#8221; and its manic chords on center stage, as it stomps away in the boys&#8217; trademarked style.</p>

Opener 'Illusions' is a brooding track with expansive synths, drama in its pads and slickness in the wavy beats. It builds to a great peak that will have floors in raptures. 'Resurrexit' is then another suspense filled jam that keeps you on your toes as jangling chords wobble above deep rolling beats. Last but not least, 'Contemporary Minds' slips into a techno vibe with rumbling bass and wide open spaces creating a spooky feel that will lock in the crowd in the club.
