Helena es la abuela paterna de Valicha. Y Helena representa irreverencia, poesía, baile, mundo y actitud. Así como el vaivén de emociones que trazaron su vida, así transcurre la sonoridad de esta pieza… entre aflicción, brillo, risas, sombras y esperanza.

Una obra de carácter ambiental, que se discurre entre cuerdas frotadas y punzadas, sintetizadores reposados y arpegiados; además, acompañada de grabaciones de campo situadas en el Valle Sagrado de los Incas, contenidas de elementos como el agua, los niños, los perros y la radio, los cuales se aúnan para recrear el sentimiento de traer de vuelta a Helena por medio de la música. 

En definitiva, una canción catártica, elevada por un acto sanador.

The sabotage in the dungeons of a secluded flying prison is what really excites the mind. The deserters who committed a crime against the sound routine were detained here. A complex string of security cameras and fingerprint sensors left no choice. The access to the data library, which had been violently confiscated from prisoners, was only possible through a small window at the top of the dome.

"Well, just a little bit more...", slightly biting his tongue to restrain the desire to rip the transparent armour open, Spacelunch filigreed his part of the work with a high-precision glass-cutter laser and a pair of suction cups. Drops of sweat traitorously rolled down his face, urging him to make it before the unintentional triggering of the security alarm.

The creaking of the bare cable on which Cat was descending was interrupted by loud thoughts about spys' failures and doubtless courage. The complex analysis of incoming information had a vulnerability – it reacted only to the smooth skin, so it turned out to be completely powerless in front of the agile, furry paws. Who knows what else will be found among the myriad of shelves, intriguing with their secrets…

This monthly issue of POOLcast marks our 5th anniversary. Five years ago we started to present you music from us, our musician friends and musical discoveries every month. With this episode we end our 5th season and half a decade of POOLcast.

For this occasion gnilyf has provided us again with one of his self-made mixtapes, which, fitting to the expiring decade, seems to serve as a stirring and stirring metaphor for the year or decade that is running out. Wavering rhythms are carried through shimmering layers, disharmonic drones are stacked on top of each other until they create an echo of confidence. Jazzy and electronic phrases vie for your attention as they seem to be played from the stage by bold experimental soundscapes. An everlasting struggle between truth and clarity. The last decade and especially the last months have shown us that truth does not mean clarity and that you can get into a fly glass faster than you thought possible. True clarity is hidden behind a veil of unpredictability that is formed by multiple futures. Moments of clarity grant us only a brief glimpse of one of these possible future events, only to be veiled again a few moments later, and we blindly try to take the right path. 

So stay tuned and be with us for the next 5 years.

POOLcast 060 - GNILYF

Pineland’s debut album “Ipse Intuitum” is the result of a close collaboration between Pheek and Giash. The two artists have earned a global following for blending minimal, dub techno and micro house, combined with flowing atmospheres and boldly used soundscapes.
“Ipse Intuitum” reveals 6 unique tracks that oscillate between high-energy contemplative joints and ambient minimal powerful grooves. The album is characterized by its organic and woody percussions that intertwine with precision, through a non-linear narrative. The attention paid to drum rhythms with flawless programming supports the complex and evocative atmospheres. The musical influences of the artists can be heard through appearances of breakbeat patterns, delicate piano and jazzy dissonant vibes. The listener abandons himself in long tracks with a very mature development and revels in glitches and soft resonances perfectly handled.
