Lil Taty is Belgrade based producer and DJ who emerged on the scene during spring 2013. His music is heavily influenced by UK club music in its most sinister shape, yet manages to find its own niche among the contemporary club movement. He is a co-founder of Minor Adjustments Records alongside Bolelee and founder of roots-psychedelic dub band Headhop. With influences ranging from Fugazi to Lee ‘Scratch’ Perry, Lil Taty is a man with a taste for audacious sound, which is reflected in both his DJ sets and productions, for the likes of Clan Destine (UK), SEAGRAVE (UK), Classical Trax (US), heel.zone (IT), D3SKONFIGVR@CION (PE), SNIF (SI) and more.

Like the best material on labels like, for instance, Timedance and Livity Sound, these complex arrangements have a distinct funk to them; a unique groove is distinguishable through the clatter. - wrote Gabe Meier, Fact Mag (“For Club Use Only” column) about Lil Taty’s first official release.

Lil Taty played DJ sets in Paloma (Berlin), Zukunft (Zürich), Rouine (Basel), Grelle Forelle (Vienna), among many and gathered a tally of around 400 performances in a ten years range. Between 2012 and 2021 he hosted shows on several radio stations - Radar, Reprezent, Noods, Mutant and more… Other monikers besides Lil Taty - Smetnja, DJ ANA KOURNIKOVA, BOTANIKA and lo-ryde.

Unlike my other studio mixes, I decided to record this one with more of a "live" approach; one shot, no editing, and most of the programming was done on the spot. In order to do so I pretended I was in a club, playing to an imaginary crowd at peak time. It's definitely sloppy at parts and if I were to do it again I would probably tweak the set list a bit, but I like the idea of documenting this authentic feel of getting to know most of these tracks for the first time in the context of a DJ set all together. It sounds like something you would hear from me on one of the first nights at the beginning of a tour.

On the 7th of July, over 100.000 people gathered in front of the Serbian Parliament in Belgrade to protest dictatorship, corruption, censorship and intimidation in the country. The movement was triggered by the mismanagement of the COVID-19 pandemic and the misinformation spread by the government itself during this time but also by June's parliamentary elections. 

Serbian elections were held on June 21st for which citizens claim they were illegitimate. The country became a one-party state, with no opposition representatives in Parliament.
 
Serbian authorities responded with violence. Over 200 tear gas patrons were thrown (expired once from 1997 and 2002), police were beating everyone on their way, and they used military grade equipment. The government also said they would reinstate (again) a full lockdown of the country, making citizens fear an authoritarian rule.

From DT Camp to Paturia Festival, they keep bumping into each other in front or behind the dj booth. Queens Joanna OJ (FR) and NVST (CH) are back together again for this Tour de Trance radioshow and they are paying a snappy tribute to storming dancefloors.

Amongst the layers of sheets, she buried her head deep into the folds, hiding away from the world. Her bed had become an unhealthy sanctuary; a place for eating, sleeping and working. The outside filled her with dread, the thought of interaction with another forcing her chest to tighten and her breath to shorten. She willed the tears back into her ears, afraid to show how defeated she'd become, but she needed to accept the help that she'd spent so long ignoring.

Greek artist Penelope's Fiancé follows a string of tape releases on the likes of Clan Destine Records and Live Adult Entertainment, with a vinyl debut on Hypermedium. The Cutting Edge Of A Knife fuses the sounds he's become known for across his previous releases; a fuzzy blend of post-industrial, lo-fi and techno, and merges frantic percussion with ghostly, eerie atmospheres and thunderous bass lines.  

Penelope’s Fiancé 'The Cutting Edge Of The Knife’ will be followed on Hypermedium by Yara 'Eyeless / Loss' EP, out December 11th & Ice_Eyes ‘Vicious Circles’ due out February 19th.

Following the aphex-blessed En-To-Pan and the recent ep Hegenrax [OOH-014] Holy Similaun goes further in its intimate and personal musical discourse with Ansatz [attempt / approach] to investigate uncertainty and the mutation of our "safe spaces”.

Extremely dilated fades, intermitted structures, massively warped voices, blasting industrial distortions and gaming sound effects populate the synthetic environments of a not-necessarily dystopian post-something, multifaceted and porous.
The feel is that of a soundtrack for a present future, inspired to the narrative naivety of anime.

Holy Similaun seems to frame its attention on the matter between and around standard musical objects—rhythm, melody to name two— overturning normal hierarchies and apparently reorienting the listeners towards the scenery rather than the ‘action’. The voids, the gaps, the structural falls and the physical impact of sounds are the core of that "negative space" in constant change.

Ansatz leaves a sense of the unfinished—distant ambient mutant techno echoes in a Neo-Tokyo-3 soundscape.
