In honor of the latest edition of "A Moment In Rhymesayers" video series, which focuses on Headshots tape #4: History, we wanted to post up a track from the tape. No song seemed more fitting and perfect than Soul Eqlipse "Think". "History" was recorded and released for, as well as, is dedicated to Soul Eqlipse/Abstract Pack/Headshots member Sess, who had passed away earlier that year. Soul Eqlipse was a group that consists of two members of The Abstract Pack; Sess and Glo. We asked Glo to give us his memories on the song "Think" below. In my opinion that was the best song we've ever written together as Soul Eqlipse, because it was the realest! Every song we ever wrote was about rippin MCs or how hip hop we were and when I presented the concept to Sess he was with it. It's also IMO that his verse on there is one of, if not the, realest he's ever written. He was brutally honest about his drinking and smoking habit, and how/why he did it. He gives advice that he was never given about some things people should think about before they chose a religion, etc… But, also the fact that he has all this wisdom about these things, but didn't "have the balls" to follow through with what he knows that could save his life. Ironically, after we wrote the song and had performed it a couple of times, Sess started really trying to slow down a little for his sons, being an even better father, and in his life in general. That song also showed me the power of substance in MC'ing vs. just rappin for me. As in, how I wanted to do my art. The (Abstract) Pack really started  recording (their official debut album) "Bousta Set It" shortly after his death and that was the last time I ever used cusswords in my lyrics. That song changed me, changed us, changed him.
