After the publication of its first record on Dec. 2020, Lyon-based Bamboo Shows label is happy to start 2021 by returning to the cassette-format with the 6-track Debut-EP from Italian duo Perse, formed by Marco Milanesio (DsorDNE, 9cento9) and Emiliana Voltarel (Braconidae). ‘Exile in H’ is a great gathering of spoken poetry, illbient, electronic experimentations and field recordings. Its dark, heavy industrial / noise atmospheres occasionally reach liberating climax, moving the listener away from the initially induced torpor through explosive drumlines.

After his debut LP ‘Temmuz’, released at the beginning of last year, Houschyar is back on Macadam Mambo with his new album: a less danceable but more personal opus. Being locked up on the rooftops of Istanbul, Houschyar repurposed a satellite dish, making use of its perfectly round and concave shape to create strange metallic-sounding percussive loops which he painted with sonic atmospheres that contained diverse shades of blue. ‘Mavi’ is an introspective pallet of emotions condensed into 7 hybrid compositions highly improvised which divagate into a very jazzy modern state of mind, jamming with pianos, electronic organs and rhythm boxes to produce another type of spiritual music that sounds absolutely timeless. In a very prolific year - with his release with DJ Sofa and Okay Temiz on Music from Memory and the initial EP of Raphael Kosmos’ newborn label Späti Records -, Marius Houschyar leaves no doubt about the level of his talent and him being part of a new generation of artists to keep a close eye on. I decided to release this little piece that has been laying around for quite some time. � - Marius Houschyar
"One day in May 2021 I had the idea to compose a few pieces using only a cheap plastic workstation my neighbour had given me because it was just standing around. Besides some subtle field recordings of a warm summer day on a green meadow, all sounds came from the samples of this little keyboard. �
'One Day In May' happened on the 23.05.21 and reflects of the lightness and beauty such a Sunday can have. Sometimes one can still feel melancholic on such a day, even if one sees the birds flying through the blue sky and the warm rays of the sun touch one's face. This little lullaby for lazy afternoons is quite important to me as it reflects on both sides, the open bright space of light and the dark room inside of us."

There is so much I could tell about our time in Kahramanmaras, but it always has been actually difficult to explain to others what we experienced there.  Still, I would like to share one tiny piece of it: A recording I made during the second week after the earthquake on the schoolyard of Sümer Ortaokulu, that has been selected as part of the French Pavilion for the XVIII Venice International Architecture Biennale 2023, for the project “Radio Utopia - News from the World” .

"The piece ‘Tozdan ilk alıntı is a tiny excerpt from the life on a small schoolyard in Kahramanmaras, Turkey, where an entire community is living in tents as a result of the devastating earthquakes of February. As part of the spontaneously formed ‘to-it together’ aid collective KAF, which has been supporting the local community since the first days after the disaster, the artist had the opportunity to collect footage and extract pieces of a shattered reality that is being transformed into something new. The recording contains conversations with children, beginning with 6-year-old Mohammed singing a Syrian song, before descending into a dreamy organ loop telling of rain, mud and the smell of burning wood. A little note from Sümer Mahallesi, Kahramanmaras through Istanbul into the world.”

After starting to build a reputation featuring on different compilations like the Sofa Elsewhere LVI, shelTer, Risks Issues Opportunities and at first the punkish electronic Danzas Electricas Vol.2, Houschyar is on to deliver his debut album on Macadam Mambo. 
Originally from Dresden (DE) and now based in Istanbul, Marius (his real name) has made his experience in different places in East Europe, studying Fine Art and developing his skills and senses for music, to let emerge a singuliar style influenced by special electronic genres like Minimal-Synth, Berlin School, Krautrock, Electro and never too far from Punk. 
Produced in his living room in Ömer Hayyam - Tarlabasi, « Temmuz » must be taken as the soundtrack of a night ride through Istanbul by a warm summer night. Houschyar succeed to catch with brio the intriguing vibe of the turkish city, developing tension and mystery in a deep immersion full of rhythms, synthetizers and guitar effects. Probably one of the highlights of 2020, don’t miss!

Bed of Roses head honcho Break Mode turns out two tracks of introspective, breaks inspired head spinners with choice remixes from Carly Barton and Sound Believer. Wash One is a slo-mo, heady, end-of-night jaw pleaser built on layers of swirling vocal samples from wwwhisperkid and an 808 kick. Stabs is an acid-dipped, mid-tempo dance movement dripping with melodrama and not-not reminiscent of Violator-era Depeche Mode. Fresh off their brilliant OST release on Musique Plastique, Carly Barton splits Stabs in two with a darker rolling baseline, trance-inducing use of stereo and one eye towards sunrise. Sound Believer turns in a 7 minute, 90's UK tinged remix of Wash One with a driving four-on-the-floor beat and an ethereal balearic breakdown.

Invisible Inc proudly presents the latest outing by London-based electro-prog/psych/kraut entity Higamos Hogamos.
Re-Exit EP is a psychedelic mutant hybrid combining orchestral drama and psych rock to create an imaginary spaghetti western soundtrack. Had Michael Nyman and John Adams worked with David Axelrod and asked The Residents to produce it they might have ended up somewhere similar.
Features an extended mix and radio mix of the title track plus a cosmic dub remix by GK Machine and a fourth track that's possibly the oddest of the lot....Gong Fishing is a little Eno, a little Ennio...and much more.
The EP is released on the same day as the new Higamos Hogamos album "Generation Games" - an ambient epic driven by modular/vintage synths and field recordings hiding a distinctly dystopian sci-fi feel underneath its apparent beauty.
