Manatee deaths in Florida soar to a record.   
 
Disturbing news about a sea mammal that's on the threatened-species list. 1,003 manatees have died in Florida so far this year and we're heading into winter their toughest season. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission says the deaths are the highest ever recorded in nearly 50 years of tracking. The slow-moving manatees' struggle to survive is getting more dire as runoffs pollute the water and cause algae blooms that choke off their food supply of seagrass. The Save the Manatee Club says manatees may have to choose between staying warm this winter or dying of starvation.

The man called the father of rock n roll dies. Chuck Berry sang about girls, cars and having a good time, changing the face of music in the 1950s and influencing nearly every rocker who followed him. Bruce Springsteen tweeting, he "was the greatest pure rock 'n' roll writer who ever lived." John Lennon once said, "If you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it 'Chuck Berry.'" Berry died today at age 90.

      January's going out in high style with a spectacular show in the sky called a Super-Blue-Blood Moon.
    It's a rare event when the moon rolls together three events into one.  A super moon, it's the closest to earth and brighter. A blue moon,  because it's the second full moon of the month. And a total lunar eclipse which makes the moon appear red, ergo a blood moon.
     It'll be most noticeable on the West Coast, in Hawaii and Asia. 
Or you can watch it on NASA's live feed starting at 5:30 am Eastern time.
 So tune in for a marvelous cosmic trifecta. If you miss this triple moon show, you'll have to wait 19 years to see the next one. (2037).

One of the man's family members told the New Zealand Herald he suffered a heart attack Wednesday and was clinically dead but an audience member revived him by giving CPR.

Rising country music singer Justin Carter dies while filming a music video in Houston. Carter accidentally shot himself with a gun he was using as a prop. His mother told Fox News Carter was just about to hit the road for a 10-state tour and had just released a single, "Love Affair."

The 35-year-old was an Army veteran with two young daughters.
