UMAMI stems from a need to rediscover the fundamental taste, in this case in music. It’s a word that is not translated into different languages, it is international, like the artists here from all over the world. Umami is the unique flavour that encompasses them all, sweet, sour, bitter, salty that encompasses perfection... which is what one feels when listening to music with a quality research, a mix of emotions that are created, leading the listener to moments of ecstasy.  

In each track, work has been done to create an unexpected, surprising, goosebump moment. It's sounds, words, metrics, bass changes, everything needed to bring out the Umami in psytrance.   

A journey from 144 to 153 bpm starting with deep dark prog rhythms and climbing towards more underground and dynamic sounds, ending with deeper sounds, psychedelia and forest.  13 courses for a sophisticated, quality menu.

His influences come from different kinds of music (mainly electronical) such as: Aphex Twin, Slide, Richard Devine, Nick Taylor, Ministry, Droid Sect, Sonic Youth etc.  all these influences & many experimentations in the lab results in a combination of heavy groovy twisted basslines & electroid rhythms, psychotic soundz & bizarre noises, with always in mind to keep the dance floor as a recreation ground!

Forestdelic Tales (FANTAZMA)

Macaronesy is the name of João Ferreira in the world of psytrance. Since an early age, he demonstrated an interest in music playing acoustic guitar and bass. Later he gained an interest in drums playing in friends' bands. At the age of fourteen, when everything seemed fine, his father passed away from cancer, which led him to take a break from music. In 2011, he was taken to a trance party against his will, once again gaining interest in music, but this time in electronics. in 2016 he performed his first DJ set at Natural Elements. Since then he has been playing at several parties with his energetic and groovy sets.
