After opening up the account on their new label earlier this year, Krankbrother return to the imprint with two new tracks, which show off the differing shades of their musical dexterity.

Up on our Debut Transmission is A-side ‘When You’re Watching Me’, a fully formed Summer belter, which ticks all the boxes required for a modern day, sunrise dance classic. A thunderous sub-bass line booms over delicate drums, the percussion lightly soaked in reverb as the filters open and close on the soft & melodic arpeggiated riffs.

All the hallmarks of a classic piece of euphoric electronica are here, best exemplified by the syrupy female vox and Balearic tones, and a hefty breakdown that really ramps up the drama. Shades of the 90’s big guns like Underworld and Fluke are here, but perhaps more in the grandiose style in which ‘When You’re Watching Me’ has been delivered, either way, it’s most certainly one of Krankbrother’s best to date.

The latest single taken from No Fantasy Required, “Blondes Have More Fun,” is accompanied by a trio of remixes from contemporary electronica royalty: prolific Swedish producer on-the-rise Jonas Rathsman, Running Back boss Gerd Janson, and international house and techno breakout du jour, The Black Madonna.

Said Tiga of the Jonas Rathsman remix:
'I'm really impressed with the Jonas Rathman remix of “Blondes”; it manages to be delicate and powerful at the same time, a really smart version of my song, subtle and emotional and exceptionally well produced.’ 

Jonas himself stated “I was so happy when Tiga asked me to remix ’Blondes Have More Fun’! I love the original and I felt that the vocals were perfect to work with. I didn’t have too long to turn it around in between touring! But it all came together so quickly and I’m super happy with the way it came out. Tiga told me he was very happy also and that is so nice when you are delivering a remix for someone :) I’m really excited to share this one with you all.”

Monkey Safari - Hi Life (Ole Biege Remix)

For the first single from a 6-track EP from Montreal's Clarian (who is also one half of Footprintz), the Canadian reached well beyond the border to collaborate with Tel Aviv-born, Madrid-based producer Guy Gerber on "Claire." Gerber has been a major player on Israel's electronic scene since 2006, running his own Supplemental Facts label and infusing traces of minimal techno, tech house, downtempo and deep house in his productions, while remaining singular in his approach. Clarian's vocal contributions were at the heart of Gerber's progressive house-leaning Fabric mix from last year, which joined the likes of Ricardo Villalobos and Omar-S of artists that turned in single-artist mixes to the series. "Claire" starts amid a queasy vocal snippet (with Clarian's French whisper lodged in at the midpoint) and threatens to go darker and deeper. But a steady handclap and glimmering melodic line uplifts and casts light across this seven-minute track.

Personality wise, he is a quiet achiever! Behind the decks he will and has mixed it with the best… Jeremy J has the reputation as the DJ’s DJ. A near perfect ear, a brand of house, tech, breaks, hip hop, disco, acid jazz and funk that defines great music and the seamless way of compiling tracks together creating the ultimate party vibe. His diversity to play amongst any DJ or act amongst these genres is second to none and has set the benchmark for all that follow.

Residing in Cairns, Jeremy J burst onto the national scene through the mix ‘If It Aint Broken Don’t Fix It’ through AKA/Triple J and his own compilation release (House2Hard Vol 2), tours and role with Generationext. 

Holding residencies with every major club and bar in Cairns and surrounding areas for over a decade, playing or instigating festivals, supporting and bringing a plethora of acts to North Queensland and across the country, for a regional town his career has been illustrious…and would be seen in this light amongst the guns of major cities. There are simply to many events played and acts he has supported to list!

Respected and revered for rescuing the north’s music scene from the near depths of extinction with his partnership in Electric Avenue, he is not afraid to put the music first. Whether it be DJ’s, bands, electronica or hip hop, Jeremy J and Electric Avenue are striving to give the regional area’s of North Queensland the entertainment and respect it deserves. 

Having been voted #1 in the North Queensland Elec:Tropica DJ award poll, industry achievement awards for his own abilities, events, his retail store and having won first place in a national mix up competition via Triple J, Jeremy has earned his right place amongst the upper echelon. Hosting and guest appearances on numerous radio stations, managing international DJ tours, setting up his DJ school, label management, instigating and running the successful retail outlet and hub for DJ’s in Tastey… is there anything he hasn’t had his fingers in? Studio… yes well that’s a work in progress at present!
