I based my version off of the version Jaedon Braun made few years ago, but swapped out the VRC6 for the N163 because i thought it sounded better.

Kirby's Adventure: Nightmare Battle (0CC-FamiTracker 4-N163)

I took inspiration from the unused version of this song in the Game Gear version of Sonic 1 and gave the song a more energetic beat. I personally prefer the Game Gear version of Marble Zone's BGM to the Genesis version.

The instruments i used are also straight from the Flying Battery Act 1 cover i did a while back, so that's a thing, i guess.

I've never played much Castlevania, but i've heard a lot of the music. This one happens to be one of my favorites, and since i just did Mad Forest a few days ago, here's Aquarius in the same style.

So yeah, doing Prayer led me to cover this song in my own style as well. Although with this one, it's much more faithful to the original in terms of its instruments. I think it's different enough to distinguish it though.

Not the most elaborate cover i've made, but i've been playing through Circle of the Moon recently and wanted to cover a track from it. I also decided to use the huge N163 slap bass waveforms from VinylCheese's Yogurt Yard cover, which i really like.

One of the best tracks from Bloodlines, and one that often gets overshadowed by Reincarnated Soul and Iron Blue Intention. Shame, cause it's a GREAT song marred by poor instrumentation.

And now for something entirely different. In my effort to do something that's not Castlevania for once, i covered this excellent tune. I don't often use the MMC5 cause it's essentially just two more 2A03 pulse channels, but it definitely has it's uses. Too bad 0CC-FamiTracker doesn't support the MMC5's PCM capabilities.

Something i admire about Harmony of Dissonance was the fact that it only remixed two songs from other entries, that being Vampire Killer and the Famicom-only Name Entry song from Castlevania I. This remix in particular is like an entirely different song fromt he original, and i can't get enough of it. So i covered it.

Super Mario Kart: Rainbow Road (0CC-FamiTracker VRC6)

I haven't seen much in the way of FamiTracker covers for this track, so i figured i'd do one myself and see how well i could replicate it. The hardest part was probably just separating the song into small chunks so i could focus on one part at a time. To be honest, the arrangement isn't too "out there", but this is Marx we're talking about. Who needs time signatures when you have communism?

The actual sequence of time signatures is as follows: 4 measures of 3/4 (the intro), 1 measure of 7/4, 7 measures of 3/4, 2 measures of 5/4, 4 measures of 3/4, 1 measure of 7/4, 7 measures of 3/4, 2 measures of 5/4, 8 measures of 3/4, 2 measures of 5/4, 4 measures of 3/4, 2 measures of 5/4, 2 measures of 3/4, 1 measure of 5/4, 12 measures of 3/4, and repeat.

Well this is a bit of a departure from the norm, isn't it? While i don't usually use the 2A03 alone, i did some experimenting in the past and decided to follow up on that with a faux-Konami style cover of the original LoZ's Overworld theme. But then i remembered that Link's Awakening is getting an HD remake and decided "screw it, let's do this verion instead". And so i made this.

Third time's the charm...i was listening to TimmyTurnersGrandDad's Butter Building Fusion Collab and figured i could go back to this song with some inspiration taken from said collab. The most notable is the bassline and drums from the Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine segment, which i thought fit really well, so i recreated and built on it.

Kirby's Adventure: Butter Building [v2.0] (0CC-FamiTracker VRC6)

For one reason or another, i was struck with a sudden feeling of motivation to create a new cover, so i went with this song from CVIII. I know a lot of people tend to prefer the NES's 2A03 version over the Famicom VRC6 version, so i attempted to bridge the gap a bit. Obviously that meant i had to keep the famous arpeggiated lead from the 2A03 version's climax. The VRC6 verison fares fine without it, but the arps just give that extra punch that 2A03-only soundtracks need.

So i covered this, what, almost a year ago? Well i've learned a lot more about Famitracking since then and i've always wanted to re-cover this song but never got around to it. There are some caveats though...the original MIDI i used was a glorified remix that wasn't faithful to the original song in most parts, so i decided to mix in some elements from the PSP FFI cover of this song. Without going into an essay of everything i added or changed,  i think the compromise worked pretty well.

Final Fantasy III (JPN) - Boss Battle  [v2.0] (0CC-FamiTracker VRC6)

So this one's a bit out of left field, i will admit. However, AVGN II is a really fun game with some really sweet tracks despite its use of free soundfonts off the internet and muddy sound mixing. Barring that though, the entire soundtrack is definitely worth a listen, especially this track, used for the final few levels. For something i had to transcribe multiple parts of by ear, it was a really fun song to cover.

This song is effing long, too...one loop is 2:18. However, despite running low on SC upload time, i figured it best to loop it twice just like every other song i've done. The actual .0CC file is a hefty 88 frames long since i decided to track the song at Speed 1 with a tempo of 100BPM (the original song is 300 BPM).

AVGN II - ASSimilation: Virtual Insanity (0CC-FamiTracker VRC6)

This didn't take nearly as long as i expected it to. Got 75% of it done yesterday, crashed, then finished it up today: a grand total of maybe three hours of work. Nevertheless, squeezing the quality of the original song into just eight sound channels was pretty difficult, but i think it sound pretty faithful to the original.
