I've been transferring a lot of 4 Track Cassettes for clients lately. It inspired me to dig through the closet and see if I still had any 4 Track Cassette masters of my own. I found one. I've always like this tune. Mid 1990's. Pardon the tape hiss... goes with the territory. Maybe I'll add some other instrumentation to this at some point. 

Only When I Breathe

Many of my heroes have been dying at an alarming rate lately. So many in fact I thought I write a song in tribute to them. What I did was make a list of all the people that have influenced me musically since I was a teenager that have passed. I then wrote down a song title and/or a line of a lyric that meant something to me from each of them. I then set about stringing these lines seemingly unconnected lines into a lyric. The result is "Heroes and Ghosts". This is just a scratch vocal but I wanted to get this out there before folks passed away and I'd have to write another verse or two. Sadly I completed the lyrics just before Prince passed away, otherwise he would been included. I might still add something for him....

The drum were played by my good friend Rob Kosinski's 13 year old son Ryan... Yeah, he's a bad ass... Everything else is me, for better or worse.

A Rainbow Wheel Of Opportunity - v2.0 beta

This is the music I wrote and recorded for a short film called "Mission Engaged". The movie was part of the 54 Hour Film Fest in where teams are challenged to write, film, edit and deliver a 5 minute film in 54 hours. At the start of the 54 hours each team is given their genre film they must make and some lines of dialogue, an action, and a prop that must be used in the film to insure the film was all done inside that 54 hour time frame. Our genre was Spy/Action. The Prop was a ring/hoop. The action was flying and the line of dialogue was "He/She/They might have a point".

As a an extra added bonus while in the middle of writing the music I was asked to be an actor in the film as well since of of the people they had couldn't make it. So it's was a fun exercise in working with a deadline. Our little spy movie also has a bit of twist at the end. I wrote each section of music as an homage to classic spy type films.
