Bloody Ears

As I was driving home yesterday, we saw a dead cat in the middle of the street. As grisly a sight as it was, it made me think about just how fragile life can be. One wrong step, and *poof*, you're dead and eventually there won't be anyone left to remember you. Everyone desires safety and comfort in some capacity, and I think this song is an expression of said desire. We won't all live forever, but we sure would like to think so.

This song draws heavily on rhythms found in 80's ballads (especially Air Supply's "All Out of Love" which served as a major inspiration for several of the rhythms) as well as some more traditional rhythms found in lullabies and children's songs. This gives the song a wistful, youthful feeling to represent our longing for a time long past.

Or it could just be something I thought sounded cool. That too.

Bedtime

I was messing around on the piano the other day and decided it'd be really cool to write an arrangement of one of my favorite Zelda tracks ever. So I did.

This song uses several different rhythms, keys, crescendos, and builds to make the song sound just as ominous and threatening as the game is. Enjoy.

Felt a bit jazzy tonight, so here you go. This one takes some serious inspiration from one of my favorite OSTs: Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney! I always really liked the chill vibe of the music that plays whenever you're investigating the scene of the crime. It almost makes you forget that someone was murdered. Enjoy!
