For my darling wife who, at the best of times, does a difficult job within our National Health Service. Throw in the covid madness and that very same job becomes almost impossible.

This is a track played only on the black keys of my piano.  It is my contribution for the "TPC Ebony and Ivory Challenge" 2015. Lovely idea and very inspiring tu use only the black or white keys. But listen yourself what I created. :)



Improvisation In Schwarz

* This is my contribution for the Ebony& Ivory Challenge from the wonderful network THE PIANO CLOUD. The track is only played on the white keys of my piano.

Weiß, soweit ich seh'

Some weeks ago I started with a track called "Schneesturm in der Dämmerung" ("Snowstorm At Dusk")... I played a short piano line on my upright in  the living room and could not stop... So I recorded it with my MIDI-Keyboard to fix the theme for more ideas... 
Today (20.02.2015) I remembered the snowstorm-melody and I came back to the piece and wrote another piano part. It took me  a lot of time, but I am happy now that it is finished. :D 
I hope you' ll enjoy listening to "Schneesturm in der Abenddämmerung"

Schneesturm in der Dämmerung

Composition – The Eclectic Collective
This song began its life as a beautiful guitar chord progression from Stephen. He wrote it with the idea the The Eclectic Collective would bring it to life, which we were all excited to do. First up was Tez, who added the distorted guitar you hear adding the edge to the entire thing. Ken added his lively foundational drums next. Josh, of course seized on that, and followed shortly after with his four-string fretless bass. JJ came along next and added the expressive organ and dancing piano, along with the big choral vocals at the end, which he did with his new synthesizer. 
  Now that we had the music done, it was time for Mark to add his distinct, signature singing to the mix of his original lyrics. Josh decided to come up with some very simple lyrics for the choruses and arranged some harmony parts for them, too, which he also sang. Mark also threw in his voice to the choruses. Ken, too, contributed his voice to the choruses, as well as harmonies and vocalizations throughout the verse. 
  Once the song was in the can, Stephen edited, mixed and mastered it for us, very ably, as always.
  This was a seemingly large project, which took us almost two months from introduction to finished product. It's another good example of the songwriting capabilities of the EC. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it.
