We’re excited to unveil PPTLMX006, featuring the incredible talents of Macro, a hardgroove techno DJ who masterfully blends old-school grooves with hypnotic rhythms. Starting his journey 7 years ago, Macro has explored various genres before fully immersing himself in the underground techno scene. Inspired by legends like Rene Wise, Flits, and Isaiah, his sets are a perfect fusion of high-energy hardgroove and mesmerizing obscure elements, keeping dancefloors captivated from start to finish.

2024 was a defining year for Macro, as he focused on developing his production techniques while performing at countless gigs. Now, 2025 is set to be a breakthrough year as he prepares to release his first tracks, bringing his signature blend of energy and groove to a global audience. Not stopping there, Macro has also taken up vinyl to further expand his skills, proving his dedication to constantly evolving as an artist.

With this mix, Macro showcases the essence of his artistry—high energy, seamless flow, and an irresistible rhythm that will leave you wanting more.

PPTLMX006 - MACRO

Macro is a hardgroove techno DJ known for his unique fusion of old-school grooves and hypnotic rhythms. Starting his journey seven years ago, he explored various genres before immersing himself in the underground techno scene, drawing inspiration from raves and learning from industry greats, such as Rene Wise, Flits and Isaiah. His sets seamlessly blend high-energy hardgroove with mesmerizing obscure elements, creating an irresistible groove that keeps dancefloors captivated from start to finish.

After a highly productive 2024 spent forming his production techniques and playing a lot of gigs, 2025 is set to be the year Macro makes his mark as a producer. He’s performed at various events and with his first tracks set to release this year, he aims to bring his signature blend of energy and groove to a global audience. Besides that, he has started practicing with vinyl to broaden his spectrum of skills. As he continues to push boundaries and refine his sound, Macro is dedicated to keep your heart pounding during his mix.

Set the Mood with MACRO!

For the 50th edition of the Set the Mood series, we welcome a Utrecht-based guest: MACRO. As a DJ who understands the subtle power of the warm-up slot, MACRO believes that a proper opening set is more than just a buildup—it's an invitation. For him, it's about crafting a hypnotic journey that sets the foundation for the night ahead.

In his own words:

“I believe that a proper opening set is all about gradually pulling the crowd into a groove-driven trance that sets the tone for the night ahead. This mix starts deep and textured, layering rich percussive elements to disorient the senses in just the right way. From there, I slowly build the rhythm, keeping the BPM low but energy simmering, making sure a story is told. This way I maintain my style of hypnotic, unpredictable, and irresistibly danceable grooves.”

Hailing from Utrecht, MACRO is a DJ and producer who draws deep inspiration from the dancefloor. His sound blends energetic grooves with obscure, hypnotic textures, designed to keep his sets pulsing from start to finish. Always in search of tracks that challenge expectations, MACRO remains focused on one mission: to keep hearts pounding and feet moving until the very last beat.
