Everybody has a story, even the "Unknowns".  Yet, are we willing to stop, take a moment, and listen?  Can you talk to a stranger, listen to a person in need, or ask if a family needs help?  Or, is it easier to walk past, drive by, or dismiss a silent cry for help.  

These two stories are true...told from my perspective.  The initial verse speaks of a family stranded in an affluent area of town with all of their belongings hidden behind a commercial trash receptacle.  They were recently homeless and had nowhere to go.  We helped with shelters and money to provide a hotel.  This family told us that we were the ONLY people to offer help...

The second part of the song is about an older man sitting in the rain at a gas station in rural Texas.  He sat with his head down and almost motionless.  I purchased a meal from the store and gave it to him...without hesitation he accepted the food and frantically started eating.  He didn't ask for anything, he wasn't "begging", he was just hungry and exhausted.  This experience rocked me to my core...because I had so much, never hungry, never cold, and a loving family...but to see a man who didn't have the basic necessities of comfort, sit amongst everyone just walking past him...I cried.

When/if we see a person who may need assistance will someone, anyone, take a few minutes from their day and to just "listen".  For, they are the Unknown with a story that is Untold...
