Fred Monk debuts on Personal Belongings! The Johannesburg based artist, known by his releases on DeepStitched and Deep Site as well as different guest mixes on Deeper Shades Of House or Deep House South Africa, blesses us with an amazing EP consisting on 5 gems that would not disappoint an exquisite audience - showcasing his wide palette of sound adding a different vibe to every track.

The opening track is 'Hold You Down', a smooth jam with a warm lo-fi vibe attached to it that will catch you immediately. 

'Miss You Still' follows up, jumping into a more emotional territory driven by intimate piano chords and a gorgeous vocal touch ready to trigger your feelings.

The journey continues with 'When I See You', where Fred Monk showcases his versatility with a more uplifting, positive track, perfect to match any beach bar atmosphere.

'DownTown' teases the closing of the EP, with a more dark / dub atmosphere paying tribute to Johannesburg underground Deep House sound crafting a track ready to warm your dancefloor up.

Closing up, 'Selective Outrage' is a profound, reflective journey. Catchy since the beginning with an hypnotic piano loop, it will carry you adding different synths, pads and strings with Fred playing back and forth with master skills, resolving the EP on a wonderful way.

Elemental Vol. 1 moves through earth, air, fire, and water not as metaphors but as emotional states. The songs drift like weather systems, mixing tenderness with atmosphere - acoustic guitars and field-warm vocals meeting the pulse of understated techno rhythms. The production is deliberately porous: wood and wire breathing alongside soft synths and spectral drum-machine traces. It's an "acoustic techno" album in the sense that rhythm and resonance share the same dirt. The songs carry the physical textures of wind in rafters, gravel underfoot, or rain on a roof, yet they shimmer with digital light. This meeting of folk intimacy and electronic timbres gives the album its peculiar gravity - part back-porch confession, part after-hours heartbeat.

Lyrically, Elemental Vol. 1 abandons conventional pop architecture. Instead of verse–chorus–bridge repetition, each piece unfolds as a field poem - free-form, continuous, and responsive to its own inner weather. The writing treats structure as tide rather than grid: refrains return when they need to, not when they're told to. This openness lets the language breathe in sync with the natural imagery that drives it - storms, light, stone, silence - and invites listeners to inhabit the songs as evolving spaces rather than predictable forms. Across the various mixes of its six song poems - We Learn the Sky, Don't Sightsee This Heart, Be a Storm in Me, Til the Heat Is Gone, You Happen Like Weather, and Wild Gifts - the album traces the cycles of intimacy and impermanence, finding in their motion the same quiet power that turns seasons, wheels, and hearts.

The young, talented and music-loving producer from the Netherlands may be a newcomer, but no stranger to producing amid years of experience.  With plenty of dancefloor tests across the globe, this LP features 7 tracks that have their own time and place. “Magari” features vocals by a diverse world music group Farafi and “Owami” rounds up the LP as a collaboration with singer Oluhle. While each track has a story behind it, the LP as a whole tells a fulfilling musical tale by Colle, and we joyfully present it to all of you!
