Amend The Constitution (Remastered Album Version)

Spent the past two days editing a 48 minute interview down to a three minute pop/story-song. Here's verse one along with a minimal version of the roller skate beat posted earlier.

On to the chorus and some rhythmic complications.

Where@bouts, the art "popcast" that remixes the world, is back with Episode 004: The Magic Skates.

Jeanne Du Snark brings the pain for the Mad Rollin' Dolls, a roller derby league in Madison, Wisconsin. She does this while living with her own persistent pain. "When I have my skates on, I'm awake and I'm alive. I don't have to take drugs."

Found sound artists Mad Genius recorded Jeanne's world, remixing her skates into an arena-shaking stomp. Bonus: Magnus Genioso hosts this episode on wheels. "You could get hit from anywhere. Just be ready."

Pulling melody out of an angry Trump crowd for our next Where@bouts revealed an interesting artifact. When female voices make a high pitched "whooo" noise, it almost always fell into an A or C. It happened so often, we jokingly played patriotic melodies with the screams. 

No explanation for this other than to say that humans are always searching for order among chaos. I've noticed more evidence of this in chant patterns, but more on that later...

More work on our found sounds pop record tonight, including this attempt at a sax part built with a vacuum cleaner.  Not quite there yet.  This often happens with our pop song sessions.  We mess with a sample for an hour, trying to bend it into the right feel for the track only to abandon it.  The good news is with the Sample Study, you get to take our failures and use them for your own stuff.  So take, take, take...

Back again with more work on the "Shimmer Shimmer Song."  (We've got no better title for it.)  This time we've remodeled the pickle jar sample from earlier into a weirder keyboard melody and added a kick drum taken from a kid kicking a plastic slide.  Very close to finishing this one.  Just got to add the coda.
